Disclaimer: I genuinely believe that this movie is a 10 in my heart but that is with a lot of bias as a Digimon fan. Still if youre in any way a fan of the original series this is easily a solid 8/10. Last Evolution Kizuna bids farewell to 20year Digimon Adventure that has been a huge part of my life. I loved the original Digimon series so much and have rewatched it countless times. I wanted to watch this for so long but a part of me held back I wasnt ready to say goodbye to Digimon. The plot was mature for a Digimon series but still simple to follow and I liked it. They knew the audience of the original Digimon series had matured along with the series over the years and this storyline was really great. It focused on the digidestined particularly Taichi and Yamato as they are entering adulthood have to decide what they want to do with their lives. Animation was pretty good too the art was great much better than try in terms of the character designs in my opinion and generally it was pleasing to the eyes to watch. I loved the many variations to the older theme songs so much and thats essentially what this film was a tribute to the original series and it does it so well. Its been 20 years and which Digimon fan doesnt start singing along when they hear Butterfly or when Brave Heart starts during the digivolution sequeuences? If youre a fan of Taichi and Yamato then this film is perfect for you as it places so much more emphasis on our two heroes than the rest of the digidestined. Im sure many others probably thing the same way but the two have been the leaders of the series and I loved going through this with them. After disappointments in the Tri. series this film was a bittersweet conclusion to the Adventure series and I loved every bit of it. At the start I was screaming in excitement seeing tributes to the original movie in the fight against Parrotmon and by the end I was bawling my eyes out. I easily tear up when watching shows but I dont remember the last time I genuinely cried tears flowing nonstop and nose running. I couldnt believe it this was really the end or is it? While the story seems to have wrapped up nicely like Taichi and Yamato I still hang onto any hope that there will be a sequel to this as Ill take any Digimon content I get. Im not ready to say goodbye yet but thank you Digimon Adventure for everything. If youre a fan of the Digimon series in any way this is worth the watch.
