Taku Mayumura is a Japanese science fiction writer who won the Seiun Award for Novel twice. In 2004 his Shiseikan written in 1974 was translated into English. He is noted for writing a futurehistory or space opera set in that universe. He is also known for manga. As of 2004 he teaches at Osaka University of Arts.
