Welcome. Im a Japanese media consumer that consumes media that are finished airing/publishing etc. However i do watch airing anime or read publishing manga sometimes. For manga that are still publishing Im reading in Arcs or reading every couple of chapters depending on the manga not volumes since most of the time i will forget most of it when the arc is still running for a year or so. Rating System I currently use the 10 decimal rating system for my lists with every main number representing a tier. I may use advanced scoring I rate the anime and manga with my overall thoughts about it. If i think its good its a 7 to 7.9 or if i think something is bad its a 3. if its average or mediocre its about a 5. Between the tiers are more of a representative how good it was compared to others in a tier i liked an anime with a score of 5.9 better than a 5.1 but both are still average or for looking for the middleinbetween score. I dont think an anime should have a score of 7.0 yet not a score of 6 6.5 would do. The tiering system is based on MyAnimeLists rating system. The notes beside the rating on the list has my thoughts on the anime or manga.
