Thanks for nominating me Korakys and Sinclair1 My Top 4 Unpopular Opinions: 1. For working people to be free they must seize control of the means of production. I think Toradora is the worst anime Ive seen and doesnt have redeeming qualities besides its better than average writing. 2. The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles. Why does the majority of anime has such fucking shitty bad unrealistic writing? Like how the characters will pause for surreal periods of time or how characters make awkward facial expressions instead of just talking or expressing themselves like people would? Theres very few anime with believable dialogue pacing or that features more likely emotional exchanges between characters. I can stomach it on comedy/satire animes or specific scenes to lighten the mood and a few other exceptions. I think the answer is that the generation of animators and directors in this era are almost entirely constituted of otaku geeks who grew up with anime and are simply perpetuating their narrow fandom catering to and cannibalizing the styles and tropes of every aspect of anime not only writing developed by their predecessors. 3. The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property. In every art form there are objective parameters/areas/aspects which in conjunction make an artwork good or bad. Style is one of these parameters and most of the time is judged only on an aesthetic sense but more often than not its the byproduct of the cultural movement behind the artwork. Under this understanding of art critique good taste exists and is the recognition and appreciation of complexity and sophistication in the best sense of the word on art. Im not trying to say that styles like minimal that lack complexity are bad but that movements like conceptual art that only have a political statement and arguable creativity are bad and annoying. And that the denial of objectivity only leads to a lack of works with well shaped techniques on the areas that are shunned. You can like what you want I dislike FMAB but its actually really good and theres no way I could deny that. 4. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. People that buy anime merch or unironically have waifus should stop watching anime and change passions. I nominate everyone that would like to rant a little about capitalist oppression.
