Basara is a post-apocalyptic fantasy adventure series and one of the most popular shoujo manga of the 90s in Japan. It is the story of how a young girl becomes "the child of destiny" and finds the strength to free her people and seek revenge for the death of her brother.

3. Nijiiro Tougarashi
The story is set in a place very similar in appearance to Earth in the Edo period. However, Adachi (the mangaka) regularly reminds the reader all throughout the series that the setting is another planet in the distant future which just happens to look like Earth.
After the death of his mother, Shichimi sets out to join his step-brothers and -sister who live together in Karakuri Tenement, a place provided by the father they have never met. He finds out that each of them had different mothers (all of whom have died), but were fathered by the same man. Not long after Shichimi's arrival, the siblings decide to journey to visit the graves of each of their mothers. On this journey, they encounter many dangers.
Namirou Itsuki, named "Baron" because of his impressive size and his herculean strength, lives an ordinary life with his familial problems. He just proposed to his girlfriend Youko, when she starts having strange dreams. Are they an omen? And what will happen to Youko's brother, who witnessed a UFO's arrival in Australia ?
6. Angel Cop
To combat rising attacks by communist terrorists, Japan has created a special security force authorized to use lethal force. Angel, the newest member of the force, fights to take down the terrorist group, Red May. Accidentally uncovering ties between Red May and the government, she and the rest of the Special Security Force are targeted for execution by 3 "hunters", enhanced psychics, working for the government. Together with her cybernetically enhanced partner, Raiden, it is up to Angel to stop them.
MinMin was a witch who lived in the Magic World and studied magic under Balma-sensei. Because of her stupidity, MinMin was cursed into a doll and exiled to the Human World. As a mini-sized doll, MinMin was able to live and do many things just like normal human, but she can't use magic when she was still that form. One day, MinMin was found by a poor college student named Ichiya who lived in a poor apartment. When he kissed MinMin in her doll form, she changed back into a witch girl. However, every time she went to sleep, she will returned back to her form as a doll, and Ichiya will have to kiss her again.
This story was about the adventures of MinMin, Ichiya, Kunitachi (a rich male model with an obsession of the Magic World and crushing on MinMin), Amon (The Prince of the Magic World who was also MinMin's childhood friend), and Shiva (Amon's loyal servant). This manga was highlighted in a light humorous way with charming characters.
8. Hakuryuu Izayoi den
Two strange encounter with one unfamiliar name confused Rui. First she unconsciously blurted out when she saw a guy in her school, another time is when she heard a woman cries that unfamiliar name out just right when Rui saw the sword her father who is an archeologist shows it to her. With this sword Rui never know that it could transport her back to the old Japan where her father's troop is having a war with another.
Note: Included in the back of this manga ,there is also an Omake which is a story about Tatsuki and Dule from Maou no Kiza (魔王の刻) This is a prequel story when Tatsuki is still a small kid that doesn't know about his power yet.
9. Yami no Tenkuu
A sequel to Sora no Soko Shirasuna no Himegimi. Yami no Tenkuu is about Rika, Yoshino and friends. Yoshino has special power that whoever get closes to her will be able to see spirits, demons and gain paranormal abilities. Even though Yoshino have this special power, she can't see or sense anything paranormal at all.
In this sequel, everyone in the manga is prepare themselves to enter their university exam now. Yoshino's friends start losing power to see any spirit. Rika is, being someone with strong six sense, still can see spirit as usual. On the day she noticed that her paranormal abilities is still going on, Rika and Yoshino meet a mysterious new student named Kawamura.
Another huge case where Rika and Yoshino has to get themselves into to get out of trouble.
10. Marina Koi Bouken
Originally written by Fujimoto Hitomi in a light novel called "Mangaka Marina Series" and its first volume is also made into manga by Taniguchi Amu.
In the manga, the story started with Marina who is a manga artist, got a phone call from her friend in Paris saying that she found a paper with treasure map written on it in a book she found in Paris. While they were chatting on the phone, Marina heard her friend answer someone who was knocking on her door, following by the sound of her friend struggling and gun shots, then everything is silent.
Concerns over this issues, Marina goes to tell her friend's mom about this and learns from her friend's mom that she just got a phone call from the police officer in Paris that her friend just got killed. Upon learning that her friend's mother has to go to Paris over this issue, she volunteers to go there herself, and is determined to investigate her friend's dead there.
