Haniwa

The haniwa in Gunmachan form a sort of tribe. In their society they hold concerts sporting events boat races featuring gambling somewhat controversially They even teach Gunmachan about the concept of democracy. As of 2020 45 19 out of 42 of all haniwa designated by the Japanese government as a National Treasure or Important Cultural Property were excavated in Gunma making them an important icon for the prefecture.
