Design Team The Design Team Leader is Kondor and the manager is Kongroo. The Design Team is responsible for all of the fun and fancy graphics and images involved with our challenges. There are two major areas of AWC design: forum graphics and badges. A forum graphics artists utilize Photoshop to create all of the graphical images you see on our challenge posts. While we have a general format that we try to follow past that we encourage imagination and creativity. As a forum graphic artist you will receive assignments to create graphics that help set the stage for the challenges theme. A badge artist is also a vector artist. We make use of Illustrator to create our character vectors. We handtrace in the program to create the form and then color detail and shade the character to create the images you see on our badges. These are then taken into our badge templates in Photoshop where the final coloring and touches are made so the badges can be sent to any challenger that completes their challenge. A visual effects artist is a new position recently added to the Design Team. The visual effects artist is a role focused on helping our Design Team elevate and evolve the designs of our badges and graphics. This member will be responsible for working with the badge and graphics artists to design and plan for visual and animated effects that can be added to the designs. Current examples of this are the shines we have on our Monthly and Genre Mastery badges as well as the glow on our Seasonal badges. Weve used Illustrator and Photoshop for this previously however this is a new position and were open to experimentation with software and practices. As a Design Team member you will get assignments as early as possible often a couple months in advance to give you as much time as you need to be successful in creating graphics and images that meet the AWC standard. We do have deadlines and ask that all design work be completed a bit earlier than other parts of the challenge creation process but this pressure should be offset by the fact that youll have your assignments and be able to work on them much earlier than other aspects of the AWC. Applications to the Design Team will require you to send us some work as an example. Applying as a badge and vector artist will see you sending a few .AI files of your vector work for us to look over and applying as a forum graphics artist will see you creating an example set of graphics using a theme we give you. You will have a bit of time to work on these before applications will closed even we cant churn out graphics on the drop of a dime. Review Team The Review Team Leader is annahoj.
