Sell written for my friend Josh: alright this is the most difficult real sell Ive ever given you and I made you watch the entirety of Higurashi s1. for reference Tanakakun and Hyouka werent real sells. However that was 26 eps this is 12. In search of lost future is adapted from an H visual novel which was in turn adapted from a french not H novel which I fully intend to read possibly in the original french. It is wait for it drumroll well implemented time travel Its main plot puts characters in mechanically interesting positions and gives them difficult choices. I could talk my head off about it and I will but before that some of the cons in the pro/con that I have to get out of the way Having just watched Devilman Crybaby the effect of the gratuitous nudity was lessened on me but it was still very much there and is probably why the anime is not as high on lists as it should be from a plot stance. Some nudity Yui in the biotube is tasteful and makes sense but a lot of it really just stems from the fact that this was adapted from an H VN. They make a point of not censoring breasts. Its implied that something happens with a teacher at one point in ep 1. After episode 9 or 10 when the plot kicks into high gear the uncalled for nudity dissipates. It starts with some awkward CG which again dissipates down to just cars and difficult structures as the show moves on kinda like Re:Zero and Higurashi Eps 38 lie somewhere between pattern establishment and filler. Depending on who you ask you might get told to doublespeed them. There are some important scenes concerning character relationships though. Same as Higurashi Gou 113. The origin of one element the cube remains unexplained. However this is not important for the causal chain. with that out of the way mild spoilers list of pros In search of lost future implements a multiline time travel universe wherein the time traveler faces attractor field convergence. unlike in higurashis implementation of limits surrounding the repetition of time travel hanyuu has a soft limit on the number of times she can loop each loop gets easier due to world line bleed our character causally must loop infinitely but escaping attractor field convergence gets harder each time due to the nature of the time travel. It is a japanese VN and as is probable focuses on high school romance. However the romance is important because it is causally linked to the time travel Not only is it multiline but we get some re zero unthinkable presents diverging from the travellers POV. Each world is real and the stakes are high. So if you got through Devilman Crybaby and you like the big 4 as much as I do this is something to check out.
