The pinnacle of manga. The things this manga does is second to none. Honestly all other mangakas should just give up as theyre never going to ever come close to Onimai. The pinnacle of manga. Okay enough with the jokes I think this manga is actually pretty good. I do think there is quite a bit of yknow weird stuff in it where I dont think I could recommend it to most people in good faith. HOWEVER if youre fine with the weird stuff in things like Monogatari and Mushoku Tensei then youll probably be fine. Its a very cute series aside from its flaws and I definitely love almost all of its characters. Im almost certain that once this series gets animated its going to be very controversial though and there will be a LOT of discussion about Mahiro and what their gender is/what they identify as and Im sure that will be interesting to watch go down but until then lets just try to enjoy the peace while it lasts. This series is just so comfortable though I absolutely love how down to earth it feels and despite its kind of weird and crazy setup that could certainly lead Mahiro into just being a creep and it feeling just super weird I never really felt that way once and just had a good time all the way through. The relationship between Mahiro and Mihari is also great and they really do feel like close siblings in a way that I dont see in a lot of other animanga. Did I talk about how much I like Mahiro yet? I really like Mahiro. I guess in terms of plot there isnt very much to talk about. Mahiro wakes up one day only to find out that they were transformed for a teenage boy to a middle school year old girl through a drug slipped into Mahiros food by their sister Mihari. Mahiro does have the option to transform back at any point by refusing to take the drug as it only works when taken consistently but they choose not too for one reason or another. Miharis reason for turning her older brother into her younger sister? To try to get her brother to be less of a loser and go outside and touch some grass for once Now that does seem like theres correlation between the 2 but it does end up working so who am I to say? Either way you get to watch Mahiro evolve from a loser who never goes outside to a functioning member of society while also learning about some of the daily struggles that girls have to go through compared to guys. I know this review isnt really structured and is just kind of amateurish Not just kind of its VERY amateurish but thank you for reading anyway. Ive never made a review ever before but something about this series just made me want to. 10/10 Mahiro is so cool and relatable.
