SPOILERS BEWARE This movie is a prequel to the first set three years in the past. It shows us how the relationship between Shiki and Kiriya prospered. He was in love with her however he also almost died as he was pursuing the murders only to find that she committed them or it at least it was portrayed that way it took a bit of time to put his thoughts in place however this didnt change his feelings for Shiki. He still wanted to believe in her. Its not exactly shown what happened that fateful night however Shiki didnt kill Kiriya. Also at some point between the end of this movie and start of the first Shiki loses her arm as we saw she had a prosthetic one in the first movie when she fought against the hospital ladys ghost that was controlling the suicide victims in the first movie which was set 3 years after this one. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/970378977455767582/unknown.png The ending of the movie which is set in June 1998 shows us Shiki in some sort of coma so something happened within the three years that set apart the first and second movies however we arent shown exactly what that was. Next movie is also set in 1998 however its in June which is three months prior to the first movie so maybe this is where we find out what happened to Shiki and why she is hospitalised. Why she is in a coma and why has she lost her arm? For now I can only speculate but Im sure with time the answers will arrive. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/970379524317540362/unknown.png We are also shown that Shiki has two personalities living within her.SHIKI which is the male version is more talkative and cheery. He says the only feeling that hes experienced was murder so it makes me wonder whether its SHIKI that was performing the murders and also was it him when he tried to kill Kiriya that night. I suppose we can only speculate however the other personality Shiki would also be able to perform such gruesome acts from what has been portrayed of her so far in these past two movies. The fact that Shiki has a duel personality opens up so many possibilities to theorise which Shiki was present at a specific time for instance in the first movie was it Shiki or SHIKI that fought the demons on the roof of the Fujo building. Im sure this series will delve much deeper into her character over the next few movies. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/970382299319402526/unknown.png This movie was certainly less abstract than the first however it opens up a floodgate of potential theories now that we know Shiki carries two personalities within her. This movie did a good job at providing some insight into Shiki and Kiriyas characters and it also seems that we will be jumping between different time periods from movie to movie.
