2000https://i.ur.com/XqEmOIk.png I wonder whats for dinner... Nourins premise sounds simple from an outside perspective. An idol girl Ringo moves from her city into a more rural environment. The main character Kousaku not only happens to be a huge fan of this idol but ends up in the same class as her once she transfers into his school And yet Ringo isnt without competition. Kousakus childhood friend Minori is desperate for his affection pinning our main character between two different paths. Needless to say with this being a Silver Link anime you will not be getting a meaningful romance story from this. Instead Nourin goes off the rails incredibly fast and it doesnt slow down from there. Besides the simple starting cast side characters begin to pop in one by one with increasing levels of absurdity. Among them is a fujo girl who looks to put the male characters into suggestive situations. The teacher is also a noteworthy gag character who is constantly trying to seduce the male students while attacking the female ones out of jealousy. The more these characters pile on the more wacky every scenario gets. Right away the curtain is revealed that this anime is dangerously stupid. Possibly too much for its own good. 2000https://i.ur.com/g291ka3.png This is how it actually feels like to be in love with an idol Thats not to say that Nourin doesnt have its own moments of ambition and dignity. Its just that most of the content of this anime is meant to appeal to us fine trash connoisseurs with its nonsense humor and bountiful amount of sexual innuendo. Nothing wrong with some dumb humor or dirty jokes from time to time though Nourin is bordering on overkill This unconventional splattering of immature humor requires some high tolerance from the audience. Not only will you have to stomach many jokes about breast sizes and women desperate to be married but a good amount of BL references and dick jokes as well. I rarely ever get any laughs from these kinds of jokes though I have to admit that Nourins delivery is creative Occasionally Nourin tries to remedy this overwhelming stupidity with informational bits related to agriculture. Its all clearly been well researched which is to be expected from the same studio that brought us Non Non Biyori one year prior to this. I give them props for managing to work the knowledge into the story and the jokes without it feeling shoed in. But really if the farming details felt unnecessary would anything else actually belong in this anime? One important question the protagonist is constantly battling with is the other main focus of the anime: Ringo or Minori? Aside from the shows usual antics each of these two characters get their own little moments with Kousaku though the resulting depth of their relationship only goes as deep as the paper its written on. The general idea is that Kousakus family fell apart as a result of their agricultural endeavors and Minoris family managed to take him in and raise him from there on. However Kousaku also thanks his obsession with Ringos idol career as an inspiration during his recovery. By comparison Ringos purpose in the story feels far more shallow though Nourin still tries its hardest to balance these two out. If youre expecting a winner by the end of this anime turn back now 2000https://i.ur.com/OCezNIc.jpeg Revel in the filth Those coming to Nourin looking for something meaningful are going to be disappointed. Those looking for a story revolving around idol culture are also going to be disappointed considering how little content pertains to that. And if what you need is a cutesy comedy with a focus on romance this sort of scratches that itch but its far too ridiculous by the genres standards. So what audience is this geared for anyways? People who just want to see something stupid? Its this lack of direction that ends up hurting Nourin the most. I have trouble recommending an anime that isnt aimed at anybody in particular. Honestly the only reason why I watched and reviewed this was because it was randomly chosen from a list of anime that I threw into a number generator. How the hell else would I end up watching something like this? 2000https://i.ur.com/YTtBpQA.png An accurate depiction of my Nourin viewing experience
