SPOILERS BEWARE Tari Tari is an anime Ive never heard of until I found it by chance one day. In fact Ive never heard anyone even mention its name in all the time Ive been part of the anime community. The only reason I even stumbled upon this series is because its OP randomly played from a playlist in YT Music when I was listening to background music one day. The OP Dreamer is such a joyful pleasant song to listen to as it gives me extremely strong vibes fitting of a summer song which is exactly the mood it gets me into when I hear again and again. Needless to say I adore this song this OP is the origin of how I came to know of Tari Taris existence in the first place and boy am I glad I did. For what its worth it was an enjoyable slice of life with tints of music and drama here and there. https://www..com/watch?v=DftbIpOoAwabchannel=MIKUX2 This anime has a cast of five main characters however only the three girls felt like the main focus of this story. Konatsu being the leading figure as it was her initial idea to form her own choir club in order to be able to perform at the recital at the end of the school year. She was forced to create her own choir as she was barred from the official schools choir from a blunder caused by her that occurred during last years recital. Although the choir initially started as a dream of hers since she loves to sing over time this became much more she made friends and created memories at this school which she will treasure for the rest of her life. Konatsu was an alright character nothing groundbreaking but not terrible either. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/980401102283501578/unknown.png The choir clubs origin lies in Konatsu however it felt like Wakana was the main character that the story was focused on. Wakana had given up music as a whole due to a tragic incident which had occurred in the past we later learn that this incident was her mother dying who loved music however the two are not actually directly related. The few episodes which explore Wakana and Mahiru are actually my favorite of the whole series. Mahiru passed away due to illness however from what is portrayed she was a great mother Wakana didnt appreciate what she had at the time due to her being stressed over exams however that doesnt justify how poorly she treated her mother during this period. Once Wakana realises that she is truly gone she feels guilt for never being about to say see you or sorry. Wakanas scenario can be perfectly summed up by a quote I really like. You never know what you have until you lose it. The truth however is you know exactly what you had you just never thought youd lost it. In the 6th episode Wakana reached her limit and broke down after realising how much she was loved and how she overlooked all of this kindness that she was offered. The promise between Wakana and her mum is bittersweet as Mahiru left Wakana some music notes to finish writing a song started by herself however for Wakana thinking of Mahiru would only bring her pain and sadness until she finally overcomes her past which she is able to by the end of the series. I really appreciate when an anime makes me think of life from many different perspectives as not many are able to do that Tari Tari actually does this with the way Wanakas character is portrayed in the series. This is why these few episodes involving Wakana and her backstory are my absolute favorite in this anime. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/980402157926879272/unknown.png The last of the girls would be Sawa who gets her spotlight after Wakanas character development is finished. Sawa wants to pursue her dream of being a jockey however her dad is opposed to this and is trying to prove his point that being successful competitively isnt that simple and requires some luck as it cant be achieved from hard work alone. She managed to get a trial of horseback archery however she suffers a fall during her performance. This fall was likely due her fatigue as she put herself on a strict diet as she needed to be under a specific weight to compete. The 8th episode shows that she has great friends that care about her as they were truly worried about her wellbeing and the fact that the choir is no longer a dream shared by some but all its members at this point. I did enjoy Sawas character and how she grew throughout the show If I had to pick she would likely be my favorite character here. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/980403492915126292/unknown.png The two boys Taichi and Maeda dont really get any episodes specifically dedicated to themselves in which I could say that their characters received some sort of decent development for the most part they existed to fill numbers to be honest although I do have to mention that Maeda should be blessed as his character is so pure and genuine the fact he doesnt pick up on Japanese humour yet only makes it more appealing to watch him. If anything I would say the market rangers is where the spotlight was on Maeda but thats about it. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/980404065009819669/unknown.png Near the end of the anime it is revealed that the school is shutting down which is meant to be replaced with retirement homes. The school festival is cancelled so the group of main characters seem a bit down as their choir seems to be no more but then comes Wakana with the song shes finally finished. She makes an inspirational statement saying that just because the school is shutting down doesnt mean it has to be the end of us as in the friend group. This gives me KOn vibes as graduation was certainly not the end of their friendship. This is also quite similar to Sakurasou except this time its the whole school and not just the dorm that is being closed down. The anime ends in a clich way as the group of friends were still able to perform the song that Wakana finished which was originally started by her mother hence also fulfilling Mahirus wish. This was a surprisingly wholesome anime for what its worth and I certainly didnt expect to see as much drama as I did since there was no tag for it however from reading the synopsis it was fair to come to this conclusion and its also PA Works original work who I know can certainly handle the drama scenes in stunning fashion. If you enjoy slice of life or music anime then I recommend checking out Tari Tari as its a nice wholesome gem hidden under most of the more popular names out there for this genre. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/980405482319646750/unknown.png
