SPOILERS BEWARE Overlord S2 follows in the foundations laid by its prequel but focuses quite heavily on world building which I think is great. As awesome as the action is having a decent story go with it makes it all the more appealing. The lizardmen arc is a good example of this the pacing is a bit slower and shifts the focus onto side characters but I believe it has good reason to do so. The cast of Overlord is quite large so having them all get a decent amount of time is very difficult. At the end of this arc Ainz subdues the lizardmen tribes instead of exterminating them as means of an experiment which may prove to be beneficial for the future of Nazarick. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/1010876606291644466/unknown.png While on topic of side characters I need to talk about Sebas. Sebas is totally badass and he has a weak spot for saving those in trouble which is exactly the same kind of personality his creator had so its very likely Sebas was created with the same goal in mind even something as simple as him taking the door off casually claiming it was rusted was so fuking awesome Once again seeing a totally OP character decimate weak villains was very satisfying it simply gives me joy watching Sebas defeat his opponents with one punch or kick. Sebas is likely also one of the few members of Nazarick that doesnt outright hate the human race as proven by the fact he saved Tuare who was in desperate need at the time. Naturally with time his feelings towards her have only grown hence he was very dissatisfied when she was kidnapped. Believe me you dont want an angry Sebas as your opponent 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/1010877780105379911/unknown.png The last few episodes showed how the crew of Nazarick toyed with a kingdom in order to raise the fame of Momon the adventurer. Demiurge conspired a plan for Momon to become famous and it worked wonders. Disguising his face he appeared to wreak havoc upon the kingdom only to be stopped by Momon further recognizing his strength as the strongest adventurer in the kingdom. During these episodes we learn more about the Blue Roses who are likely the strongest group of adventurers of this kingdom. One member caught my attention instantly Evileye always striked me as an interesting character one I would like to see more screen time for as seeing an adorable girly side of her due to her admiration for Momon was heartwarming as before this she purely came across as cold and serious. She is revealed to be a vampire being the same race as Shalltear with beautiful red eyes once she finally takes her mask off in the dying minutes of the season. Since this arc was centered around world building its unlikely well see more of Evileye and the Blue Roses for a while however. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/1010878377353302016/unknown.png To conclude Overlord is surprisingly entertaining the world building alongside its great cast and awesome action is really appealing to me. I certainly didnt give this series enough recognition when I watched it three years ago but now I can truly appreciate this anime since its a joy to watch. My only worry for this series is that due to the large cast it offers it will be very difficult to make them all relevant throughout the story especially since each season is only 13 episodes however its doing a fine job as is for now.
