Chu Feng BEE or School Shock a story that sounds like it would be about a cybernetically or maybe genetically enhanced soldier protecting a kid who has no idea how important he is. It has been done before and done better as an Anime before many times. Or at least stories that hit similar beats and plot points not that this show ever has enough episodes to really show any of it at all. Story From the six short episodes we got I feel like something was being built here that was going to be interesting. We have got characters with cybernetic enhancements and what looks like genetic modifications. Talk about a war being fought currently or will be fought at some point in the future. And the unsuspecting MC somehow being a main figure in this war. But what we actually got was far from any of that really. It started off with a bang with a rather nice action set piece at the very beginning. But then nothing really happens to push the story that much more. The obvious Antagonist group makes what looks like the first shots of this war but nothing comes from this action at all. Including the most disappointing part for me which is the OP fight tease never happens which looks like it was between Liuli Miss Bee and some new character with similar modifications. By the final episode you are just left with a bunch of questions and no satisfaction at all. Characters I would say they arent terrible but not amazing. They probably could be developed into some interesting characters in the future maybe but not from what was shown. One of these obvious developments will be about who has secret jobs and connections with other groups. We got hints with the one character maybe being connected to another group but he didnt really have any development to start with so I dont particularly care. Visuals/Art/Style This wasnt a very stylish or stunning show at all and came off looking cheap and uninspired. I would say it looks like virtually every other show that was going for a modern setting and working on a limited budget. One issue I noticed often that put me off frequently was it seemed like they werent animating all the frames and skipping stuff. The movements didnt come off being very fluid and instead were choppy. So definitely dont go into this show looking for something that will leave you shocked. Music/Sound This was my high point of the show by a mile. The music they used in this show I really did love it just sounded really good and put me in a great mood. While also doing a decent job at feeling like it should definitely be playing in the world at whatever time. Both the OP and ED were solid soundtracks and are something I would look for to listen to in the future. Conclusion Yeah you can easily skip this show and not be missing anything at all. Being an incomplete story just makes watching it even with how short it is feeling like a waste of time. Nothing happens in the show that you absolutely need to watch the characters arent amazing enough to bother watching and the visuals arent that great. I would say go ahead and listen to the OP and ED on YouTube though. Personally I would say go and read the manga if any of it sounds interesting and skip this show.
