A young boy in order to pay off debts his parents owe is forced into crossdressing by a perverted student council. That is the premise of Himegoto so no one was expecting it to be a masterpiece. Those who hear of the premise will probably fall into one of two camps. One group will roll their eyes and say Im not giving that piece of shit the time of day and the other half will eagerly say this sounds absolutely terrible and Im going to love every raunchy shameless stupid second of it. Unfortunately even those who would choose to enjoy Himegoto ironically will be sorely disappointed and this is coming from someone who has a soft spot for absolutely terrible anime. Himegoto strives for that overthetop blatant stupidity one finds in many ecchi shows but fails even at that. It tries so hard to be shocking and scandalous that all jokes are blatantly telegraphed predictable and repetitive. All the humor in the show boils down to theres a penis under those clothes episode after episode. On top of that despite their silly names all the characters are entirely forgettable. I wish I could say that the plot makes up for it but as a gag show there is no plot. Its just a series of scenarios strung together by a concept. Its unfair to deduct marks for storytelling because of that since gag shows rely on characters and jokes instead. So if we look atoh wait we already did look at those and they were both shit. There are only two redeeming qualities of Himegoto. The first is how explicit it gets contentwise. Our crossdressing male characters yes theres more than one will occasionally have their nipples exposed and even show visible bulges. Wow What a bold move Its a shame that its a shock that only works once. In subsequent appearances viewers will merely be wondering what excuse the show will come up with this week to display the characters 8balls and pool cues. The other saving grace of Himegoto is that at thirteen episodes of four minutes each its not a long watch. I wouldnt recommend wasting your time but if you do decide not to take my word about how tedious it is and give it a shot anyway youll waste less than an hour of your life on it. You might think that audacious imagery and short length dont exactly sound like selling points. This is only because they arent. If those are the only good things I can find to say about the show what exactly does that say about the show? Ill answer my own rhetorical question: it says that the show is bad. Its not even a piece of shit because that implies that one could feel anger or strong emotion toward it which would have given it at least some appeal. Instead its wholly uninteresting. If the show had been more blatantly worse it would have actually paradoxically been better. At least then itd be fun to make fun of. But no it is instead just thoroughly unenjoyable. Its just...bad. Wasnt worth my time. Wont be worth your time. Wont be worth anyones time.
