Science Fiction Harem Did you ever think to yourself huh what would a science fiction 90s harem anime be like ? well this is the anime for you . DNA does not take itself seriously but when it does talking about how physical traits are all based on our DNA while our protagonist deals with that fact slowly and at the same time realizes that just being physically attractive is not the answer yet conflicting with his playboy side which is the total opposite and which attracts 2 of the girls while the former more innocent yet dumb side attracts the other 2 in the harem . Characters 4/10 except Karin everybody else is pretty generic and forgettable though they each have pretty well defined traits but most of what you see here is a precursor to the general tropes in today s harem anime . Jun is a pretty standard guy except his allergy There are also the the girls which are hottest girl in the school that gets cheated on by her boyfriend The best friend who is immune to the playboy Karin the girl that wants to take away juns playboy powers but gives them to him in the first place and the girl version of jun who also has allergies . Plot 8/10 This is the weird funky part about this anime its like a listening to an album of a unknown artist after some time time you start to like their music and then you stumble onto their experimental record . In this case harem is the artist and this show is the experimental record and boy oh boy is it fucking weird . I wish there were more harem anime like this though when it comes to the plot because it is unique and it is actually fairly nuanced which I did not expect from it .honestly it delivered in spades what it was going for lighthearted weird and yet deep with the questions it asks . The best part about it though is that it does it way before harem was even a common genre . I was gonna give this part a 9 before but the ending was so dragon ball that it kinda turned me off . Music and Art style 7/10 I generally dont talk about art style and music because they are too subjective and I dont care about them unless they are great or absolutely crap looking at you berserk 2016 and in this case they are pretty much the standard of that era especially that art style if you saw this show on retro crush and then came to check what was it like you know what I am talking about. Manga or Anime I dont know why people dont have this section in their reviews but personally I gotta say this should be a section because yes the manga is better in this case but Id still recommend the anime if you aint got the time to read that . I think compared to a lot of rushed anime this actually turned out great which must have been an industry first or something because most of my favorite manga have been ruined due to rushed projects karakuri circusassassins pride yada yada you know there are a lot of em. If you are looking for something different in the harem genre because you are bored of all of the genre tropes that exist today Id recommend this anime despite its shortcomings its pretty unique and if you thought this was good Id recommend the manga .
