This review will contain spoilers. Note: I am very aware that this is an ecchi anime. Everyone including me who watched this show probably did for the same reasons. Therefore I will not be criticizing the amount of fanservice or the fact that there is no plot. I dont think anyone expected one. I will however talk about the type of fanservice that is most prominent in the show which in my opinion is horrendous. A few years ago I read a comment on MAL about how ecchi anime wasnt as good as it was before. Girls Bravo is old and it is still nowhere near as good as some of the ecchi I watched last year. This is not just an issue about the production value but also about comedy and oddly enough fashion. I didnt hate watching this rather than that it was a wild ride and Id hardly say that this is the worst show Ive ever watched. That crown is reserved for the second season of Psychopass. Most of my complaints about this show will be about how nothing makes sense. There are no adults in sight most of the time characters have the brain of a water flea Fukuyama is one of the worst male characters Ive had the displeasure of knowing and everyone dresses horribly. I say this knowing I have 0 fashion sense. Our story revolves around the protagonist a shy kid named Yukinari. He has been bullied since childhood and most of his bullies were girls causing him to have a phobia of women and to develop a rash whenever he gets touched in any way by a woman. One day he gets kicked so hard by his childhood friend and neighbor Kieri that he gets isekaid to another world called Seiren. This world also is full of women and only 10 of the population are men. He ends up in the bathroom of a girl named Miharu and to nobodys surprise it seems her touch doesnt affect him negatively. Miharu ends up coming with Yukinari to earth and thus begins their adventure. If you had any expectations of the show ever bringing up Yukinaris bullying ever again and for it to matter youre better resigning yourself for that to never happen. We are never given a clear reason as to why Yukinari was bullied. Yes kids can bully people over anything but even knowing that Yukinaris bullying makes no sense. We are shown how he was playing as a kid in what I assume was a school. Two girls about the same age as him just come and kick his toys all while saying how puny he is. They are just as puny and tiny as he is what in the hell? Yukinari is generic Fukuyama is a horrible pervert and the girls in Yukinaris harem all lack brain cells. This is the roster we are given: Nice girl and waifu material Miharu tsundere and childhood friend Kirie rich girl Lisa shy girl Koyomi and the token loli Tomo. I wouldnt necessarily say any of them is above the rest but most of my issues were with Kirie. Back in episode 1 when Yukinari accidentally walked in on her about to take a shower her first reaction was to scream and then punch him. Yukinari retaliated by telling her how it was ok since his phobia prevented him from feeling anything towards her body. She proceeded to get angry and get insulted because apparently that means he doesnt find her body attractive. This makes no sense. Kiries whole character revolves around getting groped and being a violent girl. Riveting. Kirie for some reason I call this the tsundere logic kicks and punches Yukinari whenever he accidentally touches or ends up watching a girl in any state of undress. She is not dating Yukinari so why she feels in the right to treat him like this is beyond me. In episode 4 Miharu was being taken away in a car and Kiries first reaction was to get flustered over being alone with Yukinari. Wasnt Miharu now a friend of yours? whatever. It is in this episode when it finally hit me that none of the girls or guys in this show dress nicely. Kiries dress is so short I can imagine she flashes everyone while walking. Later in this same episode Kirie and Yukinari end up going to Fukuyamas mansion. Fukuyama has a phobia of men and his maid only allows Kieri to go inside. As soon as they get inside the air conditioning turns up to a hundred and causes both the maid and Kieris dress to rise. Kieri was wearing a tapered dress how did the air conditioning lift it up? there is no volume. This is what I mean by logic not existing in this show. Probably the biggest laugh I got after was when Kirie complained about a nurse outfit being too short despite it being the same length as the dress she was previously wearing. Kirie is Yukinaris childhood friend and she has a crush on him but we all know that childhood friends in harems rarely win so I cant see this ending well for her. The rest of the girls are nothing noteworthy but Lisa stands out. She is a blond rich girl and is crazy about her horoscope. She believes Yukinari is her fated person and continuously harrassed and even drugs him at one point to try to get her way with him. Once you find out she is Fukuyamas sister everything makes sense. Both Fukuyama and her are delusional idiots with a god complex who know no boundaries. Their bodyguards seem to be just like them too since one of them has no issue attempting to get some from a high school student. It is incredible how Lisa casts magic and nobody bats an eye. Lisa is crazy and sends her bodyguards to retrieve Yukinari at one point and I am in disbelief as to how two armed people were able to get into a school without anyone noticing. Just how bad is the security in this school? given how nobody has done anything to punish Fukuyama for fondling girls left and right I assume nobody in the school cares. This is pushed even further when one of the guards throws a flash bomb. Where are the teachers? hell the cleaning staff even. Later on Lisa is nonchalantly casting big ass spells in the gym and again no adults in sight to care. Miharu ends up causing a big explosion in school to save Yukinari from Lisa and there are never repercussions for any of them even though the collateral damage to the school must have been insane. This also happens when Lisa and Tomo have a big dumb magic fight in later episodes. They are destroying a park yet nobody is around. It is very clear to see that the studio did not care very much if things made sense or not. Tomo Koyomi and Miharu dont particularly stick out but they too are dumb so it doesnt matter. The big elephant in the room is Fukuyama. He is a pervert and has no issue sexually harassing every girl he comes across no matter their age. All his actions are beyond disgusting and worthy of cringe. The police seem to not only suck in real life but also in anime since they havent jailed this fool yet. Almost all the comedy of the show has to do with Fukuyama fondling girls against their will and this is the type of fanservice I despise. It is not only annoying but also boring the more it happens and not funny at all. He is a creep with every letter of the word and probably the worst thing about the show. The most amusement I got from him was when he dressed as a banana. It is not just Fukuyama the show also uses an extreme amount of either rape jokes or jokes alluding to it and well needless to say I find those tasteless. I will take girls showering or bending over in ridiculous ways as fanservice rather than this. Talking about showers the girls in this show spend an insane amount of time showering. The art in the show is not great so these shots end up doing nothing. To my surprise this show doesnt have a pool episode. It did however have a hot springs episode. There was no onsen and they all ended up in an alligator and banana farm. This is where I have to give this show a bit of credit. It never gets too boring because there is always something weird going on. Obviously they couldnt use the bath at the hot springs so everyone went off to a river nearby and changed into swimsuits. It was in this episode where I realized that none of these girls have an ass. This is a tragedy. For this show being ecchi the art is extremely mediocre. The drawing of the bodies never looks tantalizing nor is it pleasant to watch. Besides the situations the characters get into the fanservice just revolves around girls bathing or being walked into when they are about to shower. One of the most memorable scenes was when Miharu honest to god gave a blowjob to a bunch of bananas. There probably are worse ecchi shows than this but there are also way better ones than this one. Miru tights or Magical Senpai are much nicer to look at than this so Id recommend those instead to anyone who wants decent ecchi anime.
