Minor spoilers ahead THE REVIEW IS SUBJECTIVE AND I DONT WANT TO ASSUME ANYTHING Im a big fan of the Macross franchise and I love every single work of them and image what can you think when the creators say This is gonna be the next Macross 7 hype like never eh? Unfortunately Macross Delta is quite bad developed in almost every aspect but theres some real good work in this massacre Yeah so first point of all. The story was interesting : a syndrome that is destroying the galaxy nice right? HELLA YEAH. The plot goes around Hayate Immelman and Freyja Wion keep in mind that and the Delta Team and the Walkure trying their best to defeat the Var Syndrome. I loved so much the first 15 episodes they were crazy and it was the best run Ive ever seen : pure emotions pure action and much much more they really got me. Of course i liked the references to the oldests titles. After the first 15 episodes it comes the worst part of the show which goes on for 8 or more episodes depending on how you watch it and I was quite bored too much static and it was a really bad choice after those 15 episodes of action and dogfights. The finale was instead sick and cool and it catched up again the action we always wanted. The story This is the worst part of the anime the charecters are completely wasted. This cast of characters was really interesting like few others : starting from secondary like the Captain Ernest Johnson which was really interesting because he was a close friend of the King of Windermere. Ernest couldve been a really great one but he was left away. Another great example is the whole group of the Walkure which got only 15 minutes to tell us about them such a big waste because Kaname was a really catchy one Makina was putted here because she just wanted to be an idol Reina is just a random nerd who was captured and then randomly putted in Walkure. I mean theres even a FUCKING JENIUS A JENIUS. Mirage couldve been an even greater character than now but she was left there like a standard tsundere B R U H. Instead of all they focused on Hayate Freyja Mikumo and a little of Messer The music what a music Personally I loved the music it was all on point an I think its amazing. Ikenai borderline is the hype song we always wanted. Hametsu no Junjou is fucking crazy and legendary. Giraffe Blues is sad and perfectly drammatic for its moments but the Freyja solo is perfect to express a message of hope. Silent Hacker fucking sucks. Onyanoko Girl is a banger dubstep with a boobie idol. And here it comes one of my all time favourite songs : Axia. I dont want to express to much about this but I love it in every aspect Personally I like a lot the design of the characters and the CGI on the VFs and the Drakens awesome and one of my favourite. There never was a time I complained about it Conclusion And now if you go on my list you can clearly see that Macross Delta is my personal 1 anime you might think why? Oh well about Macross Delta I was impressed the flawless execution of a big part of the story but most of all I was able to feel the emotions of the characters throught the events. I dont want to do any spoilers but what really hits me hard everytime I rewatch this anime is how they make you love a character and they link you with someone. The dogfight factor was foundamental for becoming my 1 and it was really on point with a lot of badass fights. After the first run of the anime I couldve felt that I really loved every aspect of this anime : the Walkure with their passionate songs Hayate doing his best to achieve his dream Freyja on how shes unique the mysterious Mikumo the brilliant Kaname the motherfucker Keith my man Messer. I really was in love with all of this. Its hard to explain I know and I said it bad but I really love this anime Arts and Animations : 9.5/10 Music : 9.5/10 Characters 6/10 Story : 8/10 Final : 7.5/10 It was fun
