Dont you dare look down Volleyball is a sport where youre always looking up HAHAHA....So it seems that my middle school volleyball knowledge has finally returned. Thats right guys I am what you call a veteran hehehe. At first I wasnt sure if the reason why I fell in love with this show so much was because I was obsessed with volleyball when I was like 12 or the fact that I am also what you would consider to be a short person. But watching this show the third time around I have come to the conclusion that the reason I am in frickin love this show so much is because its simply good. Allow me to give you a summary of the set up for this wild ride. In Haikyuu we follow Hinata Shoyo the tiny orange hair guy as he finds his passion for Volleyball. It begins when he spots a volleyball player from Karasuno highschool on the local sports channel Hinata notices that like himself this player also short hence the name he was given by many the Tiny Giant. Of course Hinata finds himself inspired by this and begins his quest to learn and join Karasunos volleyball team where he can become the Ace the guy who pow pows the volleyball just like the Tiny Giant. And thus begins the story. NOWW the reason why this show is just SO goddamn enjoyable in my opinion isnt mainly because of the plot itself which is fairly simple. Its because of all of the wonderful characters we were given and the realistic plays. Just lemme tell ya I really did feel like I was back in the court again watching this show only with even more anxiety. I seem to care about these games more than I ever cared for my lousy middle school games. I was legit wheezing through these games I was so invested. Theyre so freaking epic. Not only that watching this show I learned even MORE about volleyball and all of the strategies. I was constantly thinking wow I should have done that back in my time or hey thats smart as heck. Yeah ya get it. The character development in and interaction in this show is insane. Of course to a degree its all really cheesy but for some reason these characters begin to show a little more personality than I was expecting. They all seem like one big family and it wasnt just thrown at us either they take their time and I respect that. Each and every one of the characters in this show has a story yes thats right.....all of them even when theyre from other teams. There pretty much isnt an enemy or true bad guy in this show. Thats because the anime displays them for what they are: highschool students with a love for volleyball and an ugly dedication to win. I admit that the characters alone make the anime worth watching. Its a huge plus that I also cant really find a single character I can find annoying. The show also takes on many topics that I dont see too often in the sports genre. Which is why I really grew attached to this show. I find the passion and will that everyone seems to be drenched with to be absolutely beautiful. Haikyuu is obviously a motivational and feel good anime Im not kidding watching it makes me want to get out of my bed and go take on the world or some bs. Its just THAT good. Even if you dont like sports anime I 100 recommend this one. Im also not to fond of really sports anything it feels like Ive tried other sports animes but this is the only that I truly stuck to. But after watching Haikyuu I seem to almost have some sort of respect for sports now. Honestly if your ever just sad or depressed just put this on I swear youll cheer up in a heart beat. I am giving Season 1 of Haikyuu a 9.3/10.0 anime scale 8.3/10.0 film scale Overall I fucking loved it Check it out:
