Chika Ogaki has been working as a freelance writer since she was in school and graduated while working as an assistant. Under the name of Rika Hanamaruki she had a biannual doujin activity called Hanamarking which mainly focuses on maleoriented creations. She has also published a number of illustrations for novels and boys manga under the name Chougaku.
She made her debut in manga magazines under the name of Rika Hanamuraki but changed it for Chika Ogaki in 2000.
