These works not only meet my highest standards of quality but they are also holistically tailored toward my personal sensibilities and resonate with me on a deeply profound level. These are works that have literally changed my life. 9 My all time favorites. This is pretty much the score I give to every work I consider a certified Alvy classic. Any number inbetween my 9s and 10s is there primarily for aesthetic purposes so that they are shown slightly higher up on the list. 8 The score that I hand out the most mainly because I tend to be selective about what I watch to begin with but also because Ill fundamentally appreciate just about anything that has a solid production. This score basically tells you one of two things: I believe that this work is really wellmade on a technical level and I enjoyed it well enough. This work has notable flaws but I enjoyed it a lot. By the way 8.5s can be considered as something of a supplementary tier to my favorites listprotofavorites if you will. 7 This score means that I thought something was good overall but that there are one or two notable things that hold it back for me. It may be related to the shows technical quality or it may just be that I wasnt all that enthused about watching it. It could also simply mean that I dont have strong feelings about it either way: I liked it it was good. 6 My thoughts are technically still leaning toward the positive end of the spectrum but the work is severely held back in ways that I just cant ignore. These are likely to be works that I really wanted to like but couldnt fully get into or works that I did like overall but still had some major gripes with regardless. 5 Mid. Not terrible not great. 4 This is a work that I had some major issues with. There are certainly redeeming aspects but they simply dont weigh out the negatives for me. I would likely be hardpressed to rewatch any of these. 3 If I rate something this low then I mustve really hated it. 2 / 1 You have to commit actual war crimes for me to score something this low.
