I have a lot of information about my relationship with anime down below so if you want to know more about who I am and what I like just scroll down MORE STUFF BELOW :D My anime origin story: 500https://pa1.narvii.com/6320/15873e80a484c1d10718b36ec19e5013ec9e96d9hq.gif I started watching anime around 2016 when a friend recommended Narutohttps://anilist.co/anime/20/Naruto/ to me by showing me a very intense fight in the show. And then I was hooked so I did the first of many of my binge watches and saw about 50 episodes in a week It was a pretty fun experience and a great introduction to the medium for me. After that I took a bit of a break to focus on my studies but I was still very much into what the anime industry had to offer. Once I came back to anime I binge watched a lot of stuff and found some of my favorites then and some of them are still my favorites to this day constructing my anime watching habits that are still with me even today. Ever since I started I like to think that I watch anime/read manga in a pretty disorganised but determined way. I dont really think very much about the stuff I want to consume except for my High Priority list which I reserve for the classic stories that Ive known for a long time and have been meaning to see and when I do decide to check something out I usually just binge through it. Notable events will get bigger as time passes: 500https://pa1.narvii.com/6321/60749a127ac884d280d42fdd9bfde9159ea62b2ehq.gif My first full anime marathon Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhoodhttps://anilist.co/anime/5114/HaganenoRenkinjutsushiFULLMETALALCHEMIST/. I saw the whole thing in 4 days on the holidays only stopping for the execution of basic daily human activities. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagannhttps://anilist.co/anime/2001/TengenToppaGurrenLagann/ quickly became a favorite of mine due to the sheer amount of hype involved in its experience. Its a banger of an anime and I recommend it to everyone. Sword Art Onlinehttps://anilist.co/anime/11757/SwordArtOnline/ was a classic anime that I felt was necessary to begin my repertoire and I still have fond memories with that experience to this day. Its a great starter anime for sure DEATH NOTEhttps://anilist.co/anime/1535/DEATHNOTE/ was another classic that I knew about even before I started watching anime and I felt that I just had to see it because of how incredibly popular it was and still is. And even though I knew everything that was gonna happen due to being spoiled on it I still enjoyed it very much. My introductions to the drama genre: AnoHanahttps://anilist.co/anime/9989/AnoHiMitaHananoNamaewoBokutachiwaMadaShiranai/ Angel Beatshttps://anilist.co/anime/6547/AngelBeats/ and Your Lie in Aprilhttps://anilist.co/anime/20665/ShigatsuwaKiminoUso/. The big three of the drama anime in my opinion. At least thats what younger Gray thought when he finished watching all of them within the span of a single week It was a fantastic experience and also a very sad one I must say and I dont regret it for a second. My first anime movies: Your Namehttps://anilist.co/anime/21519/KiminoNawa/ and A Silent Voicehttps://anilist.co/anime/20954/KoenoKatachi/. I remember seeing Your Name for the first time in a pirated movie rip as it had just come out in theaters and I didnt have access to them at the time. I saw the movie with a lot of ads on screen and it was still an incredibly fun experience. I rewatched it a couple of times and its still one of my favorite movies of all time. A Silent Voice is another banger of a movie that I enjoyed very much and didnt watch through a pirated copy of the theater release this time hahah and that left a very lasting impression on me motivating to start buying manga. My first manga volumes: Your Lie in Aprilhttps://anilist.co/manga/67707/ShigatsuwaKiminoUso/ and A Silent Voicehttps://anilist.co/manga/85135/KoenoKatachi/. I bought both of them in the same day as I was very hooked on the anime adaptations and I just had to see what the original story was like. From then on Ive been collecting a lot of manga and now I have a very expansive physical manga collection which I cherish with all of my heart. My first and biggest to date manga binge: Gantzhttps://anilist.co/manga/30564/Gantz/. Its a spectacularly written manga that captivated me so much that I read all 383 chapters in the span of five days. This was another case of reading all day and only stopping to function as a human being in society. My notorious 2018 Christmas Binge where I watched the entirety of Gekkan Shoujo Nozakikunhttps://anilist.co/anime/20668/GekkanShoujoNozakikun/ Haruhi Suzumiya no Shoushitsuhttps://anilist.co/anime/7311/SuzumiyaHaruhinoShoushitsu/ and Bunny Girl Senpaihttps://anilist.co/anime/101291/SeishunButaYarouwaBunnyGirlSenpainoYumewoMinai/ all in the same day. Or night rather. I started watching them in the middle of the 25th night of December and finished them in the night of December 26th. My 2021 comeback to anime: Kuroko no Baskethttps://anilist.co/anime/11771/KurokonoBasket/. I hadnt been watching a lot of stuff due to being overwhelmed by studies. But the moment I got a week off from the heavy duty studying I decided to revisit an anime I had dropped three years prior. I did not intend to watch the whole thing at once but I ended up doing an even bigger marathon than my FMA:B binge watching 75 episodes in only four days. It was a fantastic experience and I enjoyed it very much. My journey with Evangelionhttps://anilist.co/anime/30/ShinSeikiEvangelion/. I watched the anime while talking to a friend online about it which really enhanced my enjoyment of the original serialisation. Talking about the stuff that was happening while I was finishing each episode was great because it helped me understand all the nooks and crannies that make it awesome. And thenhttps://anilist.co/anime/32/ShinSeikiEvangelionTHEENDOFEVANGELION/ I watched allhttps://anilist.co/anime/2759/EvangelionShinMovieJo/ ofhttps://anilist.co/anime/3784/EvangelionShinMovieHa/ thehttps://anilist.co/anime/3785/EvangelionShinMovieKyuu/ Rebuildshttps://anilist.co/anime/3786/ShinEvangelionMovie/ along with him which was absolutely fantastic and very fun. I feel like this was the best way I could have done it and Ill cherish that experience for a long time because now the Evangelion series has become my all time favourite. Watching Cowboy Bebophttps://anilist.co/anime/1/CowboyBebop/ for the first time along with my brother has gotta be up there as one of the best experiences Ive had with anime over the years as it was incredibly fun to unwrap this shows twists and turns with him and try to figure out where the story was going between watch sessions. It was awesome. Where I am now and what I like to do: 500https://i.pin.com/originals/24/45/96/2445962b5f1009d3560278d827214222.gif At first I used MyAnimeListhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/Grayphus now very outdated since I dont use it anymore to track the shows I watched but when their services shut down for about a year I migrated to AniList where I still am present to this day. Now this platform is a great way for me to express my love for the industry and besides its just so superior to MAL that even when their services returned I decided to stay here. Nowadays I like to review every animehttps://anilist.co/user/Grayphus/animelist/mangahttps://anilist.co/user/Grayphus/mangalist that I watch/read so my lists are filled with comments. Currently Im writing some detailed reviews and opinions on what I consume to show what I think in a more accurate way. If you like that sort of stuff you can be on the lookout for that I must add though. I mostly dont review OVAs or special episodes in any way because theyre usually too short to be able to form an educated or lengthy opinion on. I do make some exceptions for some great OVA episodes that l remember vividly but thats kinda rare for me. The same goes for one shots/single chapter stories in general. So whats mainly present here are anime/manga reviews Apart from anime I like to watch content creators such as Ironmousehttps://www..com/c/IronMouseParty and ConnorDawghttps://www..com/c/ConnorDawg and many video essays on varying topics in my free time. I also really like the game Geometry Dash and Ive played it since 2014 after the release of the 1.8 update. If youve played the game before and know what this means my hardest demon is Windy Landscape by WOOGIhttps://youtu.be/ICYmhBFVEOc. And other than that I also enjoy listening to various types of music and Im always expanding my Spotify library because of that. Theres a little surprise for those of you who stick around til the end so be sure to check that out The general grasp of my rating system: 500https://i.pin.com/originals/09/24/4c/09244c7f7dd4d17b0484370f32db6641.gif FAVORITES LIST: Only for the cream of the crop. The best shows Ive ever watched and that have a distinct special place in my memory and heart. Theyre somewhat organized by enjoyment. 10/10: Stories that stood out to me and left a lasting impression becoming favorites of mine in one way or another be it the story the soundtrack or the visuals. All of these have a special place in my mind and Id probably watch/read all or most of them again if I could. 97/10: Solid shows that caught my eye and were great experiences all around even with possible flaws. Usually Ill place any anime that I like in this range since its a good way to measure quality. Some of them Id watch/read again but even though thats not the case for all of them theyre still really good stories. 65/10: This is a basic passing grade for me mainly reserved for average shows that were just good enough to keep me entertained through their runtime. This spot is filled with forgettable not great but not bad type of scenarios that I probably enjoyed while I was watching but would not revisit later. 42/10: Shows that were generally underwhelming or that I just didnt really like. A regular failing grade reserved for stories that were below average and failed to do what they planned were boring or just dissapointed me to varying degrees. 1/10: I like to save this rating for shows that either made me angry or that I just hated in general. Every single show with this rating is one that I have a strong negative opinion about and probably for a specific reason. The stuff in here usually is just the most abominable shit I could ever come across. TLDR: FAVORITES LIST: Reserved for the best of the best. 10/10: This is awesome 97/10: Oh this is great 65/10: Eh its okay. 42/10: Yeah I didnt really like it. 1/10: This is trash. What the spoiler tags in my reviews mean: 500https://i.pin.com/originals/45/b7/2a/45b72a195746d45a0e309c9a72762cc2.gif NO SPOILERS: Pretty self explanatory. When something is tagged as this I do not go into detail about important plot points of the story itself and I just talk about what I like/dislike in the show or tell a little story about when I watched/read it. Its usually just a showcase of my opinion and why I would or wouldnt in some cases recommend a show to whoever is reading the review. MILD SPOILERS: Usually when this is the tag there are no heavy plot spoilers. But every time I decide to mention something specific about the story that I like or dislike I give it this tag. After all you never know when I might be talking about a plot point vaguely and accidentally spill the beans about a minor plot point you wanted to see for yourself. So its just better to be safe than sorry. Id recommend you to be wary if you see this tag because I hate spoiling people and I wouldnt want that to happen to whoever decides to read these. SPOILER WARNING: This ones for when I actually go into some of the events that happen inside a story. Whevener this tag is present there probably is some type of spoiler for the show that youre better off not knowing before watching/reading it. So dont read the reviews that are preceded by this tag if you dont want to get spoiled for a show. But if youve seen it and know the important stuff about it feel free to check it out These reviews are often the ones where I express my opinion in a lot more detail. MAJOR SPOILER WARNING: Pretty self explanatory as well. I save this one for when I completely spoil a show inside of my reviews be it talking about the ending of the story a major plot twist or just mentioning a lot of individual important plot points that would be qualified as spoilers on their own. Definitely dont read this if you havent seen/read the story Im talking about. But if youre familiar with everything that happens in the story Im reviewing under this tag you can take a proper gander if youd like. Theyre usually the reviews where I go all out and explain my opinion as best as I can. Also I must note I NEVER spoil different shows than the ones contained in the review regardless of the tag theyre under so you dont have to worry about that. All of my reviews are ONLY about the shows that Im reviewing. TLDR: NO SPOILERS: No plotpoint spoilers and no story spoilers. MILD SPOILERS: Plotpoint spoilers but no story spoilers. SPOILER WARNING: Plotpoint and story spoilers. MAJOR SPOILER WARNING: Important plotpoint and story spoilers.
