About Me: Ive been watching anime since the mid 90s and still watch some shows here and there more than two decades later. I guess the reason I still watch it is because I always had an affinity for cartoons since my early childhood. I used to spend hours in front of the TV watching anything animated no matter if it was produced in Japan or in the West. I still remember waking up at 7 oclock just to light up the TV to watch some morning cartoons. The late 00s marked a big turning point in my watching habits as I discovered how truly diverse and creative shows that fall under the anime umbrella can be. Its during that time that I consumed the most and also when I discovered some of my alltime favorites like Mushishi and Mononoke. Other shows like Texhnolyze and Shigurui shattered my perception that it was just meant for a younger audience and that mature elements both visually and thematically could be presented in an animated work. I dont have a favorite genre per se but if I had to chose Id say I have a small preference for the bizarre and anything artistic. I put a lot on emphasis on how a series looks so art and animation are important for me. As a result I have a penchant for short movies and OVAs as it gives the director a lot more freedom to do whatever they want. Im super fine with style over substance shows. It doesnt always need to be highly philosophical and serious to be good therefore Im able to watch anything as long as its well made. My least favorite genre is probably romance. Ive been pretty disappointed in a lot of romance anime even the high ranked ones especially the ones set in high school. I guess as you grow older you simply stop to connect with the characters and you grow tired of the constant melodrama. Although like always there are exceptions. Im not super keen on sexual fanservice as well though it doesnt bother me as long as its tastefully done. Rating scale: I prefer to use the 100 point scale as it allows the most freedom and precision when it comes to rating. As a nice side effect it creates a ranked list of every anime I watched from best to worst without me needing to make a separate post. I prefer to use the full scale when it comes to scoring and as such my mean if lower than the average on this site. Here are the breakdown of all my scores with a small explanation:
