Random thought: SubaHibi is one of the most beautiful works of fiction Ive ever read. 720https://i.ur.com/tXaoFkI.jpg The names Diogo but you can call me Talos Stormcrown its the username I use online most of the time. Im a 23 year old Anime and Visual Novel enthusiast from Portugal who can enjoy all sorts of stuff from some mindless slapstick comedies to complex and well thoughtout shows. I started watching anime in 2009 with Naruto and only got into shorter anime in 2012 with Sword Art Online. Other than anime Im also a huge Lord of the Rings fan it being my favorite liveaction movie trilogy. I consider myself quite open minded regarding the anime medium and wont judge something just for its genre. Regarding real life Im a Political Science graduate whos currently taking a Masters Degree in History and International Relations. I have a blog where I occasionally write about things that come to my mind always related to fiction. You can find it herehttps://anigenesis.wordpress.com/. As far as anime goes I tend to like everything that I can take seriously and I also usually like everything that doesnt try to be more than it is. So if a show is nothing but mindless entertainment and is aware of that Ill probably like it for what it is. If the show is NOT aware of what it is then Ill most likely hate it. I value theme exploration in anime the most especially if its related to human emotions since I believe that the best aspect of the anime medium is its portrayal of the deepest inner human emotions which allows for amazing stories to be crafted in this medium. I also highly value character writing in the sense that I like to know a lot of the characters as I feel closer to them an example being Yang Wenli. If a show has good thematic exploration and a strong main character cast I will most likely forgive several flaws they may have in the narrative or otherwise. My current favorite anime is Fate/Zero because as someone with a huge interest in History and the survival game subgenre its incredibly interesting to see historical figures pairing up with modern people in a survival game setting. The character writing is great the main characters get a lot of exposition and development and it has some very memorable scenes. Finally its incredibly thrilling and enjoyable to watch covering themes I love to see in fiction such as human morality. As for the Visual Novel VN medium it is a very underrated medium which happens to be my favorite since characterizationwise no medium has anything on it. I am able to immerse myself in the world it presents and form a bond with the characters much easier than in other mediums. Sadly they are seen as mere porn games by ignorant people when many of them are much more than that. In this medium my favorite work is SubaHibi Wonderful Everyday which also happens to be my favorite fictional work of all time due to how beautiful though tragic its writing is. I absolutely love all of the main characters and the themes it explores are somewhat relatable to me. It also works very well as a piece that makes you reflect on many aspects of life especially about happiness and what that means for you. Its interesting how underneath all the tragedy and madness that this novel depicts SubaHibi can be described with such a simple yet beautiful message: Live Happily. It has many downsides for sure but no other work has spoken to me in a way similar to this one. You can find my Visual Novel list herehttps://vndb.org/u51375/list?c=allv=0t=1o=ds=vote. I prefer simple yet effective works 90 of the time as those are most likely to have well written characters that I can relate to and end up feeling very human plus they tend to have a lower probability of failing. As such my favorite genres are SliceofLife and Drama. Having said that PsychologicalThrillers always make me think a lot: whether its about moral dilemmas or unusual forms of government/social structure I always end up getting a lot from them. Finally I love to watch comedies as they are usually lighthearted and easy to watch something I look for in anime nowadays as a way to help me relax. I tend to stay away from Shoujo and Mecha anime though Ive seen some really good anime within these genres. Regarding my rating system a score of 1 through 4 means I disliked the anime this might be for several reasons like overreliance on ecchi a ton of bland and annoying characters an inconsistent delivery of the themes or the anime being too rushed compared to the pacing that sort of story needed. A score of 5 means I was indifferent to the anime I would probably not recommend it or even rewatch it unless I thought my mentality had changed enough that my opinion of the work would too. A score of 6 means that I found the show enjoyable and definitely worthwhile although with a few problems I would probably recommend it if I thought youd like that kind of anime. Finally a score of 7 is the rite of passage it means I legit loved what that anime had to offer be it the themes characters pacing or all of them with 8 9 and 10 being higher tiers of that. Take into consideration that I do not pretend to rate objectively as I dont believe such a thing exists in art. Thus my ratings are biased to my own enjoyment and what I personally appreciate seeing in fiction so dont expect them to make sense for you: its all about my own personal experience with it and what the work means to me. This rating system also applies to Visual Novels which tend to get much higher ratings because I never bother continuing one if I dont get hooked early as theyre very big time investments. Studiowise Madhouse has my vote for best studio most of their works are really good for what they are though they have a severe problem of incomplete adaptations. The studio seems to care about what it adapts though and thats very important for me. Plus it can adapt to several genres of anime. Kyoto Animation would be my 2 as despite their inconsistent releases when they make something good its GOOD plus their production values are always high. Finally Shaft takes my 3 spot as I love their style of animation. It feels really unique and distinct from others. Besides Japanese media I also tend enjoy western literature from time to time whether its fictional or not as well as live action movies. You can find my IMDb herehttps://www.imdb.com/user/ur91819943/ratings?sort=yourratingdescratingFilter=0mode=detailref=undefinedlastPosition=0. My main interests in nonfiction works include History Politics Sociology and Psychology. While Im not into sports neither playing or watching them I do love Snooker mostly because Im a calm individual and I feel this specific sport is perfect for someone like me. Writing is my passion and I tend to do a lot of it though Ive never written a novel as of yet that being my life goal. With my free time I also like to go out for lone walks as I feel they help me a lot from a mental perspective allowing me to reflect about a lot of different topics. I tend to avoid crowds and most times people in general. Finally I love video games mostly singleplayer ones like Crusader Kings 2 Skyrim Civ5 among others though I also play some online games such as League of Legends EUW only ARAMs Overwatch very rarely and CS:GO also very rarely.
