Lise Hohenstein grew up with parents and playwrights Thomas and Marlene in Prenzlauer Berg Berlin. Like those two Lise wanted to work in theater to bring smiles and dreams to people in a world she considered dark. A talented actress her career looked like a sure thing until police pressure forced her circle to be disbanded. Like her parents she staged plays viewed as antinationalist and became ostracized for it.
