Gugalanna

グガランナ, Gugaran'na, Bull of Heaven, 天の牡牛, Ten no Oushi
Gugalanna was released onto the Earth by the god Anu after Ishtar clung to him in tears and asked for its release for her revenge on Gilgamesh who insulted her and did not respond to her temptations. The Bull of Heaven is a disaster of extreme magnitude that is clad in storms. When it appeared it brought about a flood and dark clouds that covered the world causing a sevenyear famine and destruction to occur on earth and in other words was bringing the downfall of Uruk. Against this Divine Beast none could match Gilgamesh and Enkidu worked together to stand against it and repelled it splendidly binding it with chains and destroying it with that weapon. The clouds faded and the land was saved from the flood but naturally Ishtars rage had not lessened and she requested death for either of the two of them from the gods because it was a sin for one with a human body to kill the beast of the gods. Ishtars wish was granted and one of the two Enkidu who was created by the gods was unable to defy that decree slowly weakened and died.
