Ren is a country bumpkin who recreates himself as a smart and cool guy in Tokyo so as not to reveal his secretwhich is that he is a Japanese yokai otaku. He wants to be cool and popular with the girls. He will not do anything to make his image make him look bad. Which means being embarrassed by Kokon at school. Ren also has a crush on Himeka Kojou.
