During the Edo era, youkai once shared the world with humans in prosperous times. But as time passed, youkai became the stuff of legends. Under the tutelage of her grandmother, Rena Aihara strongly believed in the existence of youkai. After her grandmother passed away, she took on the job of shrine maiden and took care of the shrine by herself. During the summer festival, a handsome stranger came to the shrine for blessings. Rena was suspicious of the stranger, and in his surprise he reverted to his true form, a youkai named Senshounushi.
