YoKai Watch is a franchise with a clear target audience of children. However it has its appeals that allow all age groups fall in love with it. From the art style to the wacky adventures here are just some of the many charming elements of the YoKai Watch anime: The storyline As an anime that was produced to air in weekly episodes it was designed so that missing a few episodes here and there would not affect your experience with the story. The plot is not super intense or complicated making it easy to follow which is always a positive element if you are looking for something lighthearted. The first few episodes obviously provide background information for the basis of the show though. Each episode guides you through a thrilling cheerful adventure in the world of yokai. There are lessons of friendship and kindness all throughout YoKai Watch and every ending leaves you feeling refreshed. Along with the happygolucky story of it YoKai Watch offers hilarious gags and wacky scenarios. Much of this humor was written with the intended audience of children but there are definitely moments that anyone can enjoy. The art style and ambience With the bright color tones and bubbly character designs every second of YoKai Watch provides you with simple eyecandy. This lively atmosphere that is communicated through the art contributes to the highspirited vibe of YoKai Watch. The characters Every character in the show yokai and human alike has unique traits. The majority of the yokai depicted in the show connect to traditional Japanese folklore and they are all based on elements from real life and folklore combined. Despite being yokai every main character still has the mindset of a human which once again adds to the important lessons that the show exemplifies. They make mistakes and learn from their experiences as well as develop bonds with others. This makes the show perfect for children as well as those of you who enjoy seeing pure and honest relationships between characters. To conclude I would recommend YoKai Watch to anyone who appreciates positive feelgood anime. Even if it is not your cup of tea it is definitely something to consider sharing with younger audiences you may know.
