This manga Wa No Kage has been like a complicated piece of crap ton. Even if I say its complicated most of the story makes sense when you read its fuck ton of extras and notes at the end of chapters. At the end it still made sense and gave me an odd satisfaction so I am writing a review. 220https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/scalesmall/6/67663/741146202.jpg Yeah I know its a great cover. And yeah thats one of the reason I picked this up. The Plot The premise of this manga is mostly based on imaginary nation that chases after the shadow of rings Keijokoku. 220https://i.ur.com/qTGr437.jpg Apparently Earth has rings in this manga. They use Corona solids which fall from sky to make Hakukei or that white guy in volume cover. Hakukei is a technology developed by this nation which serves as a full body armor while boosting physical abilities. In terms of rarity and advancement Keijokoku is at top and the only one and hence to avoid conflicts they have declared themselves neutral while having friendly relationships with nations which they cross during their ring chasing. Then we have the most influential and largest Kuchihito Empire and a small but important Zalam. These allow Keijokoku to continue their shadow chasing while assisting them in it. Too peaceful right? Now about the villain formerly known as Kohto Kingdom and now as United Kindom of Kohto or simply United Kingdom. They started as a small nation and started invading neighboring nations until they reach Zalam. And thus from here story starts. The Story Most part of the story is presented through the eyes of a traveler from the empire who arrives to Keijokoku simply because he was curious about it. Later it is revealed that he was an important character. One of the important aspect of story has been the position of Keijokoku in the upcoming war since Kohto now has power over Zalam. Now it and its people have to decide should they continue what they have always been doing or side with either side to have an upper hand? This dilemma continues in the whole story while not sucking the story itself out. The Characters The characters are not very special or very influencing and thats what I liked about it. The subtilty of them allowed me to understand the story while not losing a lot of interest. This is a lot of characters but the recurring ones are the traveler princess queen of Zalam king and queen of Keijokoku king of Kohto and his 13 General of Brigades the guy in cover and Keijokoku queens little sister. They are a lot of characters but you wont lose sight of either story or them while reading this manga. My Views As I have said before there are a lot of notes and last pages in this manga which can potentially explain a lot of references while giving hindsight on recurring characters. Personally I have not read all of them since they were detailed like explaining how Hakukei is made or about Zalams prince or about how Hakukei works. Its pretty much a alternate history on different Earth Earth with rings. Story plays out all by itself which I liked about this manga. Definitely a positive. Even if you dont read all those notes and last pages you will get through it and find it a piece of excerpt from history. Its kinda risky to recommend this since it was axed and story was rushed at end so I cant guarantee a satisfying experience for you. So please read it at the discretion that I have warned you.
