Kaguyasama: Love is War is a manga that I can recommend to anyone. The story seems like a basic romcom but as it continues it evolves and grows . It is a manga that surpassed expectations and became one of my favorite manga of all time and Akasakasensei does an amazing job at creating a story that evolves as the plot progresses. The manga is well known for its comedy for a good reason. The comedy aspects of this romcom can only be described as god tier. It is one of the few manga that I have laughed out loud reading and every chapter a read leaves a smile on my face. The comedy is executed properly and the none of the jokes feel out of place or weird. I started with the anime when I heard that season 2 was coming out and needless to say I was hooked the show was hilarious and my entire day was spent laughing and smiling. Despite that while I felt that the characters were memorable the story felt forgettable. I then watched the second season and my opinions shifted. The characters experience growth and you start to understand how they got to their current position and also watch the story start to take form. HEAVY SPOLIERS for Kaguyasama chapters 90240 After the second season I read the manga and it blew me away. After where the second season ends the story really picks up. While the comedy does not change the story becomes cohesive and each arc now feels like they are contributing to a greater story. While season 2 got me interested the manga had me addicted. I would still read each chapter while laughing but now I also was heavily invested in the story. This change helped the story into becoming something divine. The characters in Kaguyasama are people you can imagine exist in real life. I love how Akasakasensei fleshes out his characters. You watch as each character develop as you are told their backstories and you can get invested in even the most minute character. In season 2 you start to notice when it focuses on side characters such as Yuu Kei and best girl Hayasaka. As well as introducing new characters like Miko Maki Tsubame and DIO Papa Shirogane. The manga continues to develop its characters as when Miyuki gets accepted into Stanford and has to study overseas so he comes up with a plan to confess to Kaguya. They confess to each other and start dating. The plot then shifts to conflict that interferes with them dating and also focuses on the side characters like the Love triangle formed between Yuu Mino and Tsubame Miyuikis friendship with Hayasaka Makis friend group with Yuu and Miyuki and Papa Shiroganes rise in YouTube fame. The characters eventually become part of the plot and you feel like all the characters are real people. Akasakasenseis continuous reuse of characters in the story also helps make them feel real and not like a plot device. The plot in Kaguyasama also grows. After the confession Arc with Miyuki and Kaguya the storys main focus is now on the Shinomiya family. You are shown how powerful the Shinomiya family is how they control and manipulate everything behind the scenes why Kaguya was called the ice queen. You come to grips with how dangerous the situation is for Kaguya. However despite how the plot progresses it does not feel as amazing as the characters. In short Kaguyasama is a brilliant story with an amazing cast of wonderful characters and plot that is really good for romcoms of recent times. To top it all off its comedy is genuinely funny and is able to make anyone burst out laughing. It is currently October 9th 2021 and Kaguyasama is on its 240th chapter in which it announces that it is going into its last arc. With that in mind I am looking forward to what Akasakasensei has planned for the end of Kaguyasama.
