I started reading this recently so thought I should write a review of the current 15 chapters just to help anyone who is even slightly intrigued by this to see whether they want to check it out or not. I think I can quite easily split how to recommend this manga to you through two categories. The first is through the similarity this story has to Jujutsu Kaisen and the second through the writer for this the highly acclaimed singer Eve. If you hear the word Eve and you have no idea who I am talking about I am referring to the famous Japanese singer whose most popular song is most likely either Dramaturgy or Kaikai Kitan aka the 1st opening of Jujutsu Kaisen. The story of Kara no Kioku falls quite simply into the vein of the supernatural action type and it is immediately clear of the similarites it holds with Jujutsu Kaisen which makes sense seeing how Eve is a fan of the JJK manga not sure if this is accurate but I read about it on Twitter. So first off we have the overpowered mentor figure this being showcased through Tobi as he makes a pact with Rei to protect him and of course the other example being through Gojo in JJK. This is quite a flimsy comparison however which is portrayed slightly different in each and even though this might end up with me getting pitchforks pointed at me I think it works better in Kara no Kioku. This is the case mainly because despite being powerful Tobi is not unbeatable he struggles against enemies and is more realistic that way whereas Gojo just flicks a finger and defeats any enemy with ease this may change in the manga of JJK but Im mainly comparing this with the anime. Some more accurate correlations with JJK can only be apparent with spoilers from both Kara no Kioku and the anime of JJK so I wont go into that here as I want to keep this review spoiler free. Now I will delve into the second point of interest for most people that this manga was originally created by Eve with Newo producing the art. This is clearly apparent seeing how some of the characters that appear within this manga are also prominent in some of Eves MV. For example: 200https://i.ur.com/NSUV7ef.png 200https://i.ur.com/WR4Thkz.png 200https://i.ur.com/zk19GGQ.png 200https://i.ur.com/mVtRk9N.png Now to actually delve into the key aspects of this story. In simple words this is good. It doesnt do anything particularly incredible but I found myself enjoying the chapters and I think if you are drawn in by either the fact that Eve has written this or the fact that it has a similar feel to JJK then I thoroughly recommend checking it out. However if you are not a fan of JJK and dont care less about who Eve is then Im surprised youve even made it this far through the review as this definitely isnt for you. The characters are quite interesting the character dynamics mainly between Rei and Tobi are entertaining and the fights so far have also been quite fun. I look forward to reading more of this and I hope this strange review may have also convinced you to give it a try.
