https://anilist.co/anime/140502/SalarymansClub/ MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD Salarymans Club is a show that has gone under many peoples radars this season as evidently shown by its statistics and the amount of people that have watched it. In my opinion this show is quite the hidden gem and more people ought to see it. What sets Salarymans Club apart from other shows is that it is quite unique. The show focuses around a main cast that works in a corporate company that sells beverages and the show manages to blend the two aspects of their lives very well. These aspects being the implementation of their general work as salarymen and their lives as part of their corporate badminton sport team. In that respect it was very well done where through the charismatic cast of characters I enjoyed both parts of their lives. To tell the truth before this anime I didnt even know of the existence of corporate sport teams so this anime also gave me a good insight to the purpose of these teams and how they work in the business world. All characters within the anime have an important backstory that makes them special to the story and our understanding of their personas as viewers. These backstories add to our greater understanding of why specific characters act a certain way and give us an insight into why certain decisions were made throughout the story. Backstories such as Usuyamas specifically with his family had me tearing up a little when he ultimately made the decision to pursue his passion finally prioritizing himself and making a selfish decision for once after having abandoned his dreams long ago. The animation itself is very good and fluid for the most part and because this is a sports anime this is essential so props to LIDENFILMS for following through with that. The voice acting of the characters is very good with many wellknown Seiyuus taking part to give a very fitting and full of life performance to the cast of characters. While the OST is not the most memorable sound effects were done well and the opening and ending themes were bangers and fitted the show well. Overall the pacing was very good throughout the anime and no parts necessarily felt rushed or slow aiding a good watching experience. However if I had one gripe with this show it would be that some character decisions didnt feel natural and felt out of the place. One notable character decision was Takeda leaving the team to become their coach which was quite interesting and I didnt have a problem with it but we didnt really see much of him doing any coach work afterwards. In any case they already had a coach that seemed to be experienced so I wasnt really sure what Takedas job would be. Towards the end of the show there was a hint towards a second season and while the ending was quite satisfying I would most definitely not be opposed to seeing these awesome guys playing badminton together once more. While this show isnt perfect I felt like I just couldnt award it anything under 80/100. With that in mind make sure you give this show a chance Im sure you wont regret it. 450https://i.ur.com/f1o2ypB.jpg
