The thing is that when it came to Shishio Yosano did actually love him and longed for him but she was constantly battling with how to act around him and just wanted to truly get her feelings across. With Shishio he did love Yosano as well and longed for her but the other part of himself was battling between what was right and what was wrong as his duty was to be her guide and support as her teacher and that he was not in a position to be able to support her the way he and Yosano wanted to in their complicated relationship. This was why as Shishio battled between his desires vs his rationality he was a big cause in the confusion and doubt that circled in Yosanos head. His way of going back and forth between avoiding her to maintain their teacher and student relationship and sticking close to her his inner yearning hurt Yosano and made her question whether or not he really had feelings for her. After he had lied and told her that he didnt love her she tried to move on and with Mamura and attempted to steer his way instead.
When it came to Mamura even throughout knowing Yosanos complicated relationship with Shishio up until when they were actually dating before finalization Mamura didnt want Yosano to be hurt and just wanted her to be happy. Throughout their fake dating to their initial real dating Yosano found herself seeking making Mamura happy because seeing someone as cold like him smile could melt ME. However Yosano had compared her feelings for Mamura with her feelings for Shishio and concluded that they could not be the same. In the end Mamura had told her that he loved her but he hated seeing her pretending to be okay and he even let her go after she found out Shishio had been hurt and she rushed to his side. But although Yosano did love Shishio she realized she wanted to cherish someone else now. Throughout her relationship with Mamura she began to realize how her feelings somewhere along the way gradually changed. Mamura had supported her many times especially when she was suffering over her relationship with Shishio. Not only that but from the beginning as Yosano found herself not knowing how to act in front of a complicated/torn Shishio she found herself naturally being herself around Namura. Not only that but being with Mamura taught Yosano the joy of making someone happy instead of her goal being to get her feelings across and to know the other persons feelings.
With all that being said MAMURA DAIKI SUPREMACY
P.S. I mightve known that Mamura was endgame before I read the manga and I might not typically root for the second lead yet when I had first met Mamura he became my sole motivation to continue reading this toxic representation of an age gap relationship. Then before I knew it I had fallen in love with this story :
