Considerations This is a spoilerfree review 70+ in my scoring system means average. Whenever I say manga I mean manga/manhwa/manhua. Ive got to read this work on a friends recommendation. I didnt look too much into the synopsis and just started reading. The Story Humans still say that ghosts are one of the scariest things in the world. With that statement ghosts gather around a table and share their stories to prove that humans are way scarier than ghosts. The story of Ghost Teller is pretty simple in structure. Ghosts gather around a table and share their stories. After each story theres a moment of reflection in which ghosts talk about the story or life represented in the story. In my opinion the first volume was weak the stories were simple and I really just had one story that I personally enjoyed reading and that I could see even a critic of society haters and popular media. When the manga gets to the second volume things start to change. Each story gets more development and loses some of its simplicity. I would recommend anyone approaching this manga to approach it as if youre going to read a compilation of short tales. The Art Style The art style is pretty good for a firsttimer. I was surprised with the overall quality as I couldnt find information on assistants. I felt that some of the characters shared a few traits making them not visually unique. As an example several characters have similar hairstyles or eyes. 420https://swebtoonphinf.pstatic.net/20180209260/1518136656996FmwcKJPEG/04EC9E91ED9288EC8381EC84B8mobile.jpg?type=crop540540 The Ghost design on the other hand was absurdly well done. Each one has a pretty cool design that matches the story that theyre talking about. The backgrounds and minor details are really well done. Besides the repetition of traits when talking about individual stories theres nothing for me to complain about. 420https://pm1.narvii.com/6988/871e8b0cb39cadc29d3c12e666ee3b8d7ba7cdfar16401136v2hq.jpg The Characters There are a fair number of characters in this work each ghost sharing their stories can have many supporting characters like family friends and coworkers. Most of the side characters are not developed in depth as it is supposed to be an episodic approach but many of them were able to surprise me as the individual story evolved. Conclusion If youre like me you skip everything and read only the conclusion because you dont want to get spoiled with other themes. So I will try to be brief on this point: Maybe read it. If youre into ghost stories and short tales thats a good choice for you. If youre looking for a bigger drama with more character development Im afraid thats not the best choice. The horror side isnt that strong. I was only scared twice in the entire series so if youre afraid of horror give it a shot.
