I remember picking up this manga a while ago because some people in the community praised it as a small underrated manga. Even as barely a teenager at the time and been watching anime all my life exposed to all kinds of degenerate content I found this pretty disturbing and really off. Fast forward to today I thought of giving it a second chance to redeem itself and maybe notice stuff that I couldnt see and perhaps even appreciate it. Before we move to the major problem of this manga the pacing is all over the place the storytelling is awful the art is so bad and messy and the character designs are just the most generic designs someone can think of. Now to address the elephant in the room the thing that doesnt make this just your average pretentious drama that you see all the time in manga and anime is how it portrays pedophilia. The plot goes like this the main cast of this manga is the MC named Ikeda the sisters MC named Minami whos a 4thgrade student and his best friend Kanda. Ikedas and Minamis parents divorced and after his mother remarried his father abandoned them leaving them all alone and helpless which basically forces Ikeda who still is in high school to work as hard as he can so he can cover all the expenses in his life. Rent food and most importantly protect his sister from living in poverty. Because of his work hours and him working so much he didnt have the time to take care of Minami and would often ask his best friend to stay with her and take care of her. One day he arrived home earlier than expected opening the door to his house and searching for Minami only to find her in her room he opens the door of her room and he finds his best friend having sex with his 10yearold sister. He obviously was shocked disturbed and disgusted and quickly beat up Kanda shoved him out of the house cursing him and saying that he never wants to see him again Minami then tries to stop him saying it was her fault and she seduced him a 10yearold child. He then hit her leaving her alone in her room. After this some really tiresome and irrelevant drama happens Minami just disappears Ikeda and Manda join forces to find her only to finally find her in some village in a house with her father and some more drama happens we see how Minamis and Mandas relationship came to be and before the awful epilogue our protagonists accepts this disgusting relationship not very happy about it of course and abandons Minami. Minami asks Manda to be her caretaker saying she can satisfy him even if shes a child. Manda because he couldnt handle the responsibility while feeling a pang of very heavy guilt abandoned Minami only for her brother to accept her as she is and swears hell never abandon her because they are family. Finally in the epilogue after 5 chapters of pure filler suffering theres a disgusting hint of romance. A time skip happens when Minami is 16 years old and begs for her brother to let her see Manda who she was very much STILL in love with him cause she wanted to MARRY him. She goes outside his house begging for him to see him at least one more time he lies that hes gonna get married soon and we see him crying in the end and confirming that he has feelings for her. Now that this rollercoaster of disgust is finally over lets see what exactly is wrong with this manga. at least in my humble opinion Im not saying that the mangaka is problematic and maybe she was just going for the shock factor that just didnt work well BUT you cant just address pedophilia as just your typical affair between 2 people. When the protagonist caught those two doing what they were doing in the bed he felt BETRAYED by both the two of them we see the 4th grade child wise enough to seduce and create an intimate relationship with an adult and finally the predator being the fragile victim knowing he is doing something wrong and feeling guilty but he cant stop. The author tried to show us a broken family where everyone was licking each others wounds but the problem lies in her inability to show us a much clearer narrative and a much clearer point. How she showed us the situation was just a person doing a mistake and having a physical relationship with a broken person. She didnt even make pedophilia such a big deal. Writing something shocking disturbing and using the shock factor correctly requires good storytelling skills. Portraiting something that is sick needs to be portrayed like something that is sick regardless of whos the sick one. Because the author lacks those skills this awful try came out. Waste of time.
