might have spoilersor not you wont know till its too late Creature is a manga that I found one day cause I was bored as fuck and wanted to find something to read where I would have to do literally no thinking at all I wanted to read something in a vegetative state. If youre ever in that kinda mood too then I would say that this is worth a read. Heres why. The characters are pretty average I guess. Im not going to remember any of these dipshits names in a week but whatever thats fine. They moved the story forward and did their job well enough. MCs are nothing special but I liked them well enough. The character design is pretty decent and they all have reasonableish motivations. Sometimes I found myself questioning the actual character of these people since these kids would do some insanely out of pocket shit and stupid brave stuff like first try and were all just supposed to be like Yeah you rock I didnt like that at first but I got used to it and ended up seriously fucking with that aspect of the story. Literally every single page of this entire manga is fast and furious levels of disbelief and I loved it. The plot is where my disbelief starts to get stretched past the point of laughter and we get into actual black magic fuckery. To start when this whole outbreak thing starts its contained and no one else knows about this. None of the media is reporting on this and no one is talking about this fucking huge wall that has seemingly out of nowhere appeared to completely surround shinjuku. Farfetched? Sure. Secret underground civilization clusters? With special creature meat diets? Youre losing me. There are a few time skips too and theyre not that confusing but it can be a little tough to try and string all of these different points in time together. And there are also a couple sub plots thrown into the middle that kinda veer off the main direction which can be a little frustrating if not completely unnecessary. So if I had to make a comment about the plot id say its more confusing and thought provoking than id like a creature apocalypse story to be. But its aight. The pacing of the story is pretty fast youre never going more than a couple chapters without someones life almost being ended in some brutal fashion. Its done in a decently clever way too with human threats filling in those gaps between creature threats and I liked that idea. Emphasizes how fucked everything truly is. And a 0 to a hundred pace for the entire story is exactly what a fucked situation would look like so i found the story to move at a good clip in its entirety. The art is one of a kind. Fantastic. Sensational. Incredible. The most gorgeous art Ive ever seen. Its so good that this manga is worth reading if only to look at the panels. Every single creature every explosion every decapitation every melting pot of bodies Shingo Honda brings out all the stops and it shows. The art is fucking gas. However I am a lazy idiot and I cant be bothered to figure out how to embed shit in here. So youll just have to take my word for iti have never lied in my whole entire life. Thats what I would have to say about this manga. Its aight. I liked it. Read it maybe. You might like it too. Just dont go in hoping for too much youll be disappointed. Just turn your brain off and enjoy. tldr: i came looking for copper i found copper
