Before I jump into this stellar Interstella review I want to say that the viewers experience of this movie probably largely depends on if you like the Band Daft punk or not. This is is a movie that is supposed to be a big music video to Daft Punks album Discovery and will be coming from a guy who has loved Daft Punk since 201617ish. PLOT: Pretty simple basically an alien band that is beloved by their planet is abducted by humans and are forced to perform and release their music for an avaricious businessman. I will admit it was little predictable but there were a couple turns that were unexpected. The hour length of the album makes sure that it doesnt overdo its stay no time is wasted nor does it feel like anything is rushed. The overall flow of the story feels very natural and the album matches the sequence of events almost perfectly at some points it felt like the album was made with the movie in mind with how well put together it is. CHARACTERS: Again the characters are also pretty simple. We have The band which consists of 4 members an evil music producer and a hero. They all get the job done. Ive heard that a lot of people think that the band members didnt get much characterization but I think the point was that they werent supposed to stand out but more stand together as a band. Not only that but at the end of the day its an hour long music video so I dont think itd be too necessary to expand anymore then they could have. AESTHETICS: Id say this is where the movie shines the best. First off it has that charming older art style back when animations werent really distinguished as anime or cartoons. The color palette is also really vibrant and pretty it was never boring to look at in that regard. The animation wasnt some eyegasm that most people expect when they hear the words good animation but by no means was it bad in any way. Lastly if we want to count Discovery as an Anime OST then dang i guess Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo have finally been trumped when it comes to my favorite anime soundtracks as this is one of my favorite albums. BOTTOM LINE: INTERSTELLA 5555 is an impressive feat for a music video and as a Daft Punk enthusiast Id say that it captures Discoverys energy in a profound way. Some people find it very authentic in a childlike way and some will find it cheesy. I dont expect everyone to like it the way I did. I never really liked music videos which is why it took me like 5 years to finally check this piece out and I will say that INTERSTELLA 5555 is a solid thumbs up from me thank you for reading this through Thank you very much for reading this review through This is my first review written so I decided to choose a more simple movie for this
