The story follows the same line of other works of the genre the father of the main character is a scientist and is kidnapped or killed by some secret organization and thus starting what we are used to seeing in other mecha. Well from my point of view Im not saying that this is bad on the contrary I think that even after years stories like this are still very appreciated until today and GoShogun is on that list too. In my view the characters of GoShogun are the strongest point of the work even having seen basically the same conflicts in other works between the characters I think that here it works as an escape valve that is it works very well in my view. 1000https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/798291340495945752/1081210122824589352/IMG1426.jpg And obviously we cant forget the jokes which is certainly what makes a mecha work even more fun and interesting to follow. And somewhere in the nearly half of the anime we finally get answers about how beamler energy works or how it actually came to earth. Dr. Sanada one of the research members who were sent to Siberia was kind of expected but knowing that the small stone of the meteor found could teleport and that it could send a signal to a second one that was kind of unexpected and not to mention that making the base Good Thunder and GoShogun evolve to stage 2 was something interesting. And that if the Good Thunder reactor were destroyed it would cause the destruction of the entire solar system that is that is practically thousands and thousands of atomic bombs. And of course consequently came the other two last stages and the new abilities of GoShogun who can control other mecha and machines. Visually GoShogun is a very well produced anime for the era and even with the limitations the anime managed to deliver something cool old anime is a charm and that is undeniable. In short the first part of GoShogun is literally slow and that the events of that first stage was something that could have been much better if it had taken a much more serious turn.. The second part had everything to be something much better than the first and only but it was in the same footprint as the first and not to mention that both the enemies are very weak .. Those who are going to watch the anime in order to wait for something serious will certainly be disappointed or their expectations may not be met.. The final act was reasonable in such beauty and even reminded me of The Ideon Be Invoked.
