Updated review as of chapter 133 Alright here comes my first review I hope you guys are able to either get a good look at this manhwas potential and see if its your kind of series or not now I started reading the manhwa about 78 months ago and Im currently all caught up as of chapter 133 this will contain some slight spoilers mainly in the character section with a certain character. You have been warned. Pros: 1. Plot: A game Kang JinHyeok no lifes becomes reality threatening to destroy humanity within a certain time limit unless they progress through the tower of trials the further you progress the more time humanity has. Right off the bat I do appreciate the more unique start this manhwa has allowing for you to understand why everyones losing their crap and trying their hardest to clear the dungeon its not because this has always been here and that they want money or power but it starts off for humanitys own survival. 2. Characters: Even before the actual start of the story Kang JinHyeok regularly works out and physically takes care of himself hes not a complete loser or lowest of the low weakling like Jin Woo was in SL prior to the double dungeon the side characters admittedly start off a little weak but they grow fairly likeable throughout the course of the story Teresa Cheon Melina etc 3. Top tier FMC: Alice is quite possibly one of my favorite female characters in Manhwa top 5 for sure she is easily superior to every female from SL I will die on this hill 220https://i.ur.com/vXfTpRv.jpg 220https://i.ur.com/rXb5KnX.jpg 220https://i.ur.com/lzKAylu.jpg 4. Extremely interesting tower mechanics: The author actually cares to explain from the beginning how important it is to fully explore a floor or how only specific items/skills can be obtained in lower floors and yes this can IMMENSELY help you in later floors the series does a great job making each floor feel like it has a purpose aside from just defeating the boss of the floor something SL completely lacked pretty much until the very end of the series which really made majority of the arcs feel like crap in comparison 5. Power System: Tons of explanation and exposition on skills and how they work as well as their acquisition ranks the power system and the amount of work put into it makes almost every floor boss feel very satisfying to read as Kang uses sly tactics to usually check off prerequisites he needs to copy skills/trigger certain special events Id honestly say the power system is what really sets the series apart as well as the amount of work put into the tower as a whole. 6. Unique approach to the solo level upper genre as Im calling it at least: The way floors bosses and certain enemies work and need to be defeated I believe is fairly well written and thought up of. I cant stress enough how action packed and interesting even the earlier chapters are just due to the fact that unlike every other dungeon/level upper manhwa out there that ik of in this series your actual level doesnt mean as much as you think it does the power system is heavily determined by your items/skills acquisition ranks as well as your knowledge on floors and their various mechanics something that obviously makes our MC op to begin with for the first 100 chapters or so Kang isnt even lvl 100 hes as powerful as he is due to his knowledge on attaining powerful skills items. 7. Art: The art was made by the same studio who did SL Redice Studio naturally you can bet your ass that this manhwa has great art and I really do love it. With all the pros out of the way Ill move on to the cons not that I currently think there are that many but Ill toss out things people may dislike with the series Cons: 1. Slight spoilers Side characters: The cast of side characters are a bit underutilized this is something thats also apparent in SL and a lot of other manhwas in this particular genre but Id say its a bit worse here for the first 60 or so chapters. Though they have been doing a nice job at giving them more attention/screen time as of late most the side characters are pretty much cannon fodder without Kang it also doesnt help that they have an extreme lack of screen time or just fairly generic personalities. I do seriously hope this starts changing given time the last 2030 chapters have done a pretty good job creating the main cast of characters aside from Kang and Alice so its definitely improving in my opinion. Post chapter 100 Teresa has gotten a ton of development especially with her alter ego in play Ive personally come to like her as my 3rd favorite character in the series due to her darker half and I will also admit Cheon has been growing on me as well. 2. MC: Kang can be rather cold and merciless though its mainly towards his enemies or people he doesnt mind using which usually turn out to be horrible people anyways Ive seen this turn off quite some people for some reason so Ill put it here. 3. The progression of floors: It takes a few chapters for Kang to start focusing on climbing floors rather than skill hunting/level grinding now I personally think this is a strength of the series as it proves that not only are early floors actually difficult fitting of the game having hell difficulty prior to it becoming reality but it shows that simply being a high level person doesnt mean you can just no brain speed blitz and 1 shot floor bosses that have very special mechanics or certain conditions to copy/obtain skills or items. Conclusion: I would say thats all for my evaluation of the manhwa thus far as of chapter 133 all in all if youre someone whos looking for a manhwa that is basically a small mix of SL but also has its own interesting elements to set itself apart from its competitors I highly recommend this one. Id even go as far as to argue this might be a hidden gem just because of how many people treat this as some trash SL copy/wannabe when its so much more and lastly ALICEONTOP she is A QUEEN AND I LOVE HER 220https://i.ur.com/shjIAF9.jpg
