THIS REVIEW IS TARGETED AT THOSE WHO WANT TO CONSIDER WATCHING IT. I WONT BE BREAKING DOWN CHARACTERS AND SCENES BUT WILL INSTEAD COVER THE ANIME AS A COMPLETE PACKAGE. NO SPOILERS What made me watch it?: Clips on made me smile. I wanted more. Simple. Review: Why watch an anime about the daily lives of high school boys? Why even do a review considering the anime is not new? Because my dear reader this anime turns normal characters and their lives into something special. And I want to let everybody know that this is a great watch. This is one of those shows where talking about it does not do it justice because this must be viewed and experienced. That is probably the only way to enjoy the nuances this anime provides. The anime serves as a comedy but not entirely in a quippy jokey kind of way. Three ordinary high school boys. They go about their lives and interact with recurring characters who each have their own little personality. Calling them main characters is a kind of oversimplification because this anime really values its side characters to the point that they may even have their own ministory or character moments. The anime simply chooses to have the trio as a focal point. This anime is also immensely carried by its voice acting. Hidenori is a favourite of mine. The voice acting elevates the comedy and highly aids in immersion. If youve ever gone through this phase of your life this show will strike a chord with you be it nostalgia reliability or the sheer innocence of it all. Each episode contains several short stories as if viewers were suddenly dropped in their lives for a moment see some kind of payoff to a story or event and then are immediately transported to the next almost as if we are viewing or reminiscing our cherished memories with old friends. Some stories often have a similar setup to a previous story and so the stories find themselves referring to past stories and experiences much like real life. The characters have enough personality to make them distinct and memorable while at the same time not really allowing for any kind of character development in the traditional sense since their personalities are what make their interactions endearing to watch. The cast is almost an ensemble and you find yourself smiling or giggling at how they go about their lives. Give it a watch when youre feeling down it will cheer you up. After all this is an ordinary anime about ordinary high school boys. And yet its endearing and entertaining and will leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
