This is my first review and English isnt my first language so if you have critics please tell me it would be a big help. Also I tried to make this as spoiler free as possible. 220https://i.ur.com/KCltk80.png Getenrou is one of the few series of Masakazu Ishiguro that has been fully translated. You may know him from a newer series like Heavenly Delusion or probably an older one like And Yet the Town Moves. Heavenly Delusion kind of open the gate for me to check his other works and getenrou elicit an interest on me because of how mysterious and bizarre the synopsis is. Plus it just has 9 chapter so it wont take a lot of time to finish. Just like i said Getenrou is weird. It started with some boys who tried to sneak in porn magazine for their own amusement only to followed up by some sentai murder mystery on chapter 2. It feels like i read an entirely new series and that is how youll feel while you read this manga at least for some of the earlier chapters. Getenrou just like Heavenly Delusion is shrouded with mystery on how every dots in the story connected. Those weirdness will somehow clicked and makes sense in the end. While it reminded me of heavenly delusion in term of how the story connected and progressed it felt closer to Odd Taxi. If you somehow fall in love with this manga then the most likely reason is the mystery and the way how everything unraveled becuase thats definitely the best part about the manga. But its only 9 chapters and you can only do so much with that. Its fun and all but theres a feeling like it could be more and while i like how everything falls into place by the end of it its not something amazing but also good enough considering its constrained. While its surrounded by mystery there are a lot of comedic moments too which is not that surprising if you have read/watch the authors other works. While i enjoy the comedy i can see it might be bothersome for some people. The art isnt something I would consider great but I still like it more than some anime/manga Ive seen. It has a unique art style that separate them from the lot. Its so distinct you can already know who the author is from just a glance. One thing I really like though from Masakazu Ishiguros character design is some character has a really distinct face. Its not something that important to me but its great to see. 220https://i.ur.com/ziDSezF.png With only 9 chapters the characters dont have many depth but its expected. They are there to move the story and they just did that nothing more and nothing less. They are likeable though at least most of them are. Other than the characters the other aspect that suffer from its short chapters is the world building. Its not bad btw I will even consider it really good especially for how short the manga is but thats also the problem for me. I cant shake off the feeling that there are so many things it can offer if it has more chapters and it will also give it more room so the theme can be taken more seriously and explored better than what it is. So the question should you read this manga? I would say depends. If you have one or two hour to kill i would say give it a shot i mean its only 9 chapters. If you love Heavenly Delusion then i would say probably yes. Its an interesting read because you can see the influence it might have on Heavenly Delusion hell even i get to make more theory about Heavenly Delusion because of this manga. In the end this manga is a fun little read for me. Its not breathtaking. Its not great either but good enough for what it is. Again this is my first review and if you have opinion about my writing please just tell me I really appreciate it.
