At first it was hard to enjoy the characters especially when one is clingy with no reason as to why and the other is so avoidant it just comes off as being rude when they give false hope to the clingy character that they can be close it came off as kind of annoying since the characters werent relatable at that time in a crucial part of the story when the reader is supposed to get hooked. But after giving a chance theres quite deep backstories to Sadie and Lex which explain why they are how they are especially in the friend department which explains their views on having friends. This also helped add some more joy to watching the two actually start to get along. You feel their stories from friendship that means the world to them after the lack of friends/respect prior to even more a budding romance. Theres also the side plot with Xavier and Hank and while I think Xavs shipping thing can be off putting at times part of the reason of a lower score its never enough to deter from reading on or even finding him funny or his interactions with Hank quite cute. His more crack based plot being taken seriously is also not something I expected but the suspense between him and Hank from the thought of Hank finding out his secret was a nice detail and became very emotional near the end at least for me. There was never a time where I was bored of watching a side character group interact for too long. I also loved that the characters were often portrayed as animals. One of my favourite parts of the whole series was seeing Sadie as a little hamster with a head of hair and glasses on perched on the head of a large samoyed. Lex and Hank being similar characters Sadie and Xav also being somewhat parallels was also enjoyable in these sections as theyre both portrayed as larger and fluffier animals while their partners are shown to be smaller. A dislike I have thats far stronger than my dislike for the shipping from Xav was the parent portrayal. I dislike how after Sadie introduces Lex to her mother Sadies mother is just cool with everything despite their past showing different. And with Xav his mother came off as confusing towards his crack plot to avoid spoiling. She at first came off as angry and disapproving even partially aggressive but then said it was just because she didnt want him to get hurt which shouldnt be shown as a healthy portrayal of protection. Im not too experienced on Manhuas yet let alone GLs but this so far has been my favourite read. Good art style good characters funny plot long chapters. The plot is good for many LGBT based readers even partially including transgender relatability. What more could you ask 100 a recommendation I will give to others on the future
