Great Pretender Razbliuto is the sequel to the Great Pretender series which first aired on June 2 2020. Then after more than 3 years they announced a sequel named Great Pretender Razbliuto which got released on February 23 2024 with big expectations and hype. Everyone even me was really excited for the ONA movie but at the end of the long wait I want to ask Is it really worth it? Great Pretender is one of my favorite anime ever seen. Around August 2023 I first watched The Great pretender and also wrote a review because I literally fell in love with the show. Thats why when I saw that its getting a sequel I was really happy that I could enjoy that peak even more. There is a proverb like The more you expect the more disappointed you will be in the end. Thats what happened here in Great Pretender Razbliuto.Now if I come to the story of the ONA movie the story is supposed to start directly from the ending of the Great Pretender season 1 and also start from there but... There is a big but. But the plot and everything were totally different and unexpected. No problem its okay as long as the story and plot are interesting. The whole story was based on Pinjue Jiang who is also a pretender but he is also the adopted or named son of the drug mafia who has some connection with Dorothys real identity actually with her death. He is under the human trafficking boss case 4: The Wizard of the East who killed Dorothy and afterward Laurent Thierry and his team tricked him in the ending of season 1. That is the whole synopsis of the whole one and a halfhour ONA movie It looks surprising but it is just this. If you saw The Great Pretender season 1 and then also watched the movie you can understand what I am going to say about the plot story and characters. The character story of Jays wasnt really so interesting the sound blend and forced. The connection between a father and a son didnt come out quite well. If you want to know what should be done to make it better I simply answer that you should watch Case 4. Edamura and Akemi Suzaku: this is how it should be. In the ending when Jay took the final decision he wasnt really hitting anything it was like hmm really Finally the main thing about the twist which is one of the main reasons for Great Pretender whose name represents itself was good thats all. If I say it truly it was kind of predictable after 10 or 20 minutes. Huh it hurts. The animation and the visuals are the same as in season 1 which is good. The OST and background music were so so in comparison to season 1. Sorry my words are reaching the limit when it comes to praise or credit. In my opinion this movie was a sacrifice to tease another sequel to this series. As a result many things were forced and unsettling. I think they could give it a season not a 1:30minute movie. Its really painful to say but this doesnt deserve our waiting. I am not saying that you shouldnt watch it. No you should watch then judge where I am coming from. The Great Pretender season 1 was a peak thats why I highly recommend the series to everyone. Thanks for your time.
