Ill be keeping it as newcomer friendly as possible without the expectation anyone reading this has watched/read yuru yuri previously. from the world of Yuru Yurihttps://anilist.co/anime/10495/YuruYuri/ comes a brand new series focusing on a background character from the main series Sakurako Oomuro https://anilist.co/character/35878/SakurakoOomuro joined this time around by her sisters hence the title.. those whove watched Yuru Yurihttps://anilist.co/anime/10495/YuruYuri/ will already have an understanding of who she is and her dynamic with her family. if youre someone who liked the main series youll have no problem comfortably jumping right into this and getting that expierence all over again. however for those who havent watched Yuru Yurihttps://anilist.co/anime/10495/YuruYuri/ prior to this release you may want to read a little further to get a better understanding if this series is for you. taking place before the events of Yuru Yurihttps://anilist.co/anime/10495/YuruYuri/ this is as good place as any to start. while you miss out on the likes of Kyoukohttps://anilist.co/character/35871/KyoukoToshinou Yuihttps://anilist.co/character/35874/YuiFunami Akarihttps://anilist.co/character/35872/AkariAkaza and Chinatsuhttps://anilist.co/character/35875/ChinatsuYoshikawa outside of some voice and background cameos this series tries to replicate what makes the mainline cast work so well and will help you flow right into the goofy nature of the mainline series. characters In its 43 minute runtime it manages to fit in more than a handful of characters all having drastically unique personalities. Ill mainly be covering the main three as each story segment revolves around them. sakurako https://anilist.co/character/35878/SakurakoOomuro being used as the face of this entry is as lovable and dense it gets. completely unaware of social queues and her inability to get her emotions across normally she is the standout character making every scene shes in a joy to watch. while I believe her personality is best when its paired with Himawarihttps://anilist.co/character/35871/KyoukoToshinou this entry offers enough for me to say you dont lose much of what makes her character so great amongst the wide cast. hanako https://anilist.co/character/66565/HanakoOomuro the younger sister of sakurako and the youngest out of the three sisters. ranking amongst the top of her grade shes shown to be very intelligent. despite that she like her other sisters is unable to convey her emotions properly and often times comes across as cold from being too blunt towards sakurako and her classmates. even with her intelligence as youd expect from someone whos supposed to be much younger shes still very immature. unlike sakurako whos just a chaotic mess her immaturity comes from her youth and her desire to still be looked after relying heavily on her family. nadeshiko https://anilist.co/character/35878/SakurakoOomuro the older sister of sakurako and the eldest sister out of the three. unlike the previous two sisters whose dynamic are polar opposites shes around to keep them in check by being strict and very much playing into the older sister type youd expect. like most of the series you never see much from their parents though this really is just namorihttps://anilist.co/staff/101553/Namori not introducing characters who arent really needed. and obviously so no man the father gets in the way of the cute girls so it really helps to balance everything out with an older sister who does what youd expect parents to do just without the downsides of being a parent. much like the other sisters she has her own friend group. though unlike the rest who have established couple dynamics in the series her other half is left unexplored thus far with plenty of guessing room given to who it may be. art this season is undoubtedly the best the franchise has looked with what originally started as a pretty average adaptation nearly 1 years ago.. at least as far as art style is concerned from the same studio behind oshi no ko doga kobohttps://anilist.co/studio/95/DogaKobo. to now being adapted by the infamous studio which brought us interspecies reviewers or even the currently airing spicewolf adaptation studio passione https://anilist.co/studio/911/Passione from a studio with very controversial works ranging from ethical to style debates comes their first swing at the cute girls doing cute things subgenre with no other franchise better to start with other than yuru yuri. and while I thought their work on interspecies reviewers was pretty good their work here is almost unarguably their best showcase. the quality put into each frame almost feels like its ripped right from the source. if you ever worry about an anime not adapting the mangas art style making the transition from anime to manga once it ends rough that shouldnt be a worry here. the quality you get from the manga is the quality you get from this movie though maybe a bit more dynamic in its framing. backed up by the current director of the revived franchise coming from studio shaft who previously worked on big titles like monogatari nisekoi and your name. if youre a fan of modern animation youll be pleased here. music they really know how to elevate feelings and comfort with background music. some anime Ive watched have struggled trying to fit a song into a scene and keep the tone of the scene accurate but here that really isnt an issue. every song including both the OP and ED bring me nothing but joy which is exactly what I want when experiencing things like this. summary there isnt really much to be said here I havent already said. regardless if youre new to the franchise or youve been around since the start and just want a short movie about cute girls being silly with great art pleasant music and lovable characters? then I think this is the right pick for you. I give oomurokehttps://anilist.co/anime/167984/Oomurokedearsisters/ a perfect score.
