First real Code Geass thign I was around for to watch as it happened. It was fun. Did it surpasse or even mathc the OG? No. Didnt really expect that either. Ive watched all the akito movies and while those had me blinded by being 14 and seeing cool mechs fight they also set a president that anything past OG CG wasnt really gonna hit the scale and or quality of it. And I am fine with that. Having these smaller stories told in the same world makes me happy honestly. Sakuya/Roze was fun to watch and quite frankly I feel like it got shown that she isnt Lelouch but does know her shit somewhat. I enjoyed seeing her take the protagonist role and didnt really see the ending coming. Which I think is a good one for her character. Sealign away the gease by forcing her to never speak again is neat. And leaves a geass canceler open to have her do shit again if they really want to go that route but Im hoping not :P Ash he is funny. Yea idk Suzaku but slightly different. I guess that is a good encapsulation of most of this show. The OG Code Geass but different on a smaller scale. Ignoring the Loki thing. But I liked him and how his backstory is kidna just a mystery. Although not one I ever attempted to puzzle together tbh. It was fun to watch tho I am unsure on how people who havent watched the Akito movies feel about it but I genuinely like the CGI mechs just as much as the OG ones. They look stylish and I will 100 day dream about Ashs Mech doing cool shit. One thign I feel liek tehy do way less tho is sayt he name of their mechs. Like I can recall most of the big fancy mechs from the OG but here I think Ashs is called Apollo? And Sakuyas was Artemis. Otherwise I couldnt tell you any other ones. Which sucks cause to me the mechs and their designs and names are just as big a part of CG as a thing as the story and insane geass shit they sometimes pull. The shining stars were fun. I have not much to say and cant really remember most their names. Mostly cause I suck at names but yea. They are definitely a pretty decent supporting cast. And feel a lot more capable then the Black Knights were on their own. Cause I felt in OG CG the Black Knights were kidna fucked without Lelouch or another leader. But the Seven Shining stars? They can operate on their own and I really enjoy that difference. Then there is the britanian thing which I guess does make sense. They did kinda start a war on the whole world. So it does make sense as to why some would join the cause to live normally. Norland was also fun his disguised at humanity for creating him may be cliche but I just happen to enjoy that cliche. And I like how they explained that disgust. All in all I would recommend watching it.
