This season in my opinion is better than the first in many ways. I dont know exactly where to start. But I think I will begin by saying that once you are familiar with the characters having watched the first season it makes this one a lot more enjoyable to watch. I will start by saying that I feel like this season has lot more depth in the mind of the characters and it is something I appreciated very much. I started to even find myself relating to some feelings and thoughts that these people were having and it made for a great watch with wonderful immersion. I enjoyed that there seemed to be more of somewhat... flavor inside of this season. There were moments when I thought brawls were about to take place. There seemed to be more tension inside some of the scenes and even more pressure. They definitely ramped up the drama this season and it is very much a palpable difference. I think since now I have finished both seasons and we will possibly not be getting another one I can now talk about the characters in a way of tiering them based off what Ive seen in the anime. Spoilers Ahead First off I would like to say that not one time did any of the three main stories we have not keep me invested in what the couples had going on respectfully in their own episodes. Each one of them gave a different vibe and it was wonderful because I found myself wanting to figure out more of so and so after a few episodes. I actually cared about how things were going on the end for Kisa or Ritsu or Chiaki. It kept me more invested than the first season for sure. Ill space out the spoilers so it doesnt look funny in the final cut lol but another thing Id like to touch base on is the soundtrack. My god...was the soundtrack to this season actually amazing. Filled with a bit of soul and much emotion to match the depth and lingering weight of the different thoughts and processes these 3 main characters were going through internally. It really felt like the music brought you deep into their world and as a music head who makes beats myself and has endless adoration for music it was really appreciated. The animation itself really held its consistency but thats to be expected as older anime was more hand drawn than anything and this was also not a super huge anime like how NewGen anime are getting pushed out in ridiculously short crunch times. I had no complaints about the actual animation nor the art style as again this time it was much easier to keep track of everything considering I had already seen the first season prior to watching this to completion. Overall I feel like there was more drama more character building more slice of life feel to this season as opposed to the first one which now after watching this feels like just one big introduction to this season haha. It also seemed to keep the same consistency with the comedy as the first season if not just a little bit more than the first season in fact. It was really refreshing because it felt like a perfect balance between balance slice of life and comedy which I can really enjoy. With all that being said though my point still stands that for me this season had a little bit more life and comedic than the first which is nice and makes me yearn for a third season even though I know that we will most likely never ever get it. But thats okay by me to be honest. I liked the story for what it was even though at times it was a little washy and cringe but then again thats sort of kind of no offense to you BL lovers out there lol the niche norm when it comes to this genre. Now its onto Junjo Romantica and hopefully I can get the same feel and interest as I did Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi for that show as well as they are set in the same universe. Thats all for now. Shimainuu
