One of The Most Healthiest Relationships Youll Ever See Ooh La La/Sse Sse Sse is a sliceoflife romcom of 70 chapters that focuses on the relationship between GoMyeong Yoon and MinHan Kim. But for simplicitys sake lets call them Panda and Tarot respectively as these are the affectionate slapdash nicknames they call each other very early on. 220https://files.catbox.moe/r5b8jd.jpeg Its a simple story. Pandasitting in a caf with her friendwants a boyfriend. So she does what any reasonable person would do and asks out the first boy she sees who passes her table. The boy agrees. And that my friends is the fastest relationship speedrun Ive seen and it all happens in chapter 1. After this hijinks ensues and story focuses on the building and wild antics of their slapdash relationship. Im saying slapdash quite a bit because the story is about a relationship that essentially forms on no prior chemistry. However somehow these two make for some of the healthiest couple writing Ive seen in fiction. This manhwa does so much right: The comedy is on point and the author excelled at making me giggle or just smile widely on what felt like every page. The goofiness that Panda and Tarot share is so infectious and lovable that it made me wish I was friends with them. The way how they try to figure out how the way their relationship works is so wholesome and sweet. The way they bond over the smallest of things and activities is just so great to see. Below is one of the funniest moments in this read that made me laugh like an idiot just with no additional context: 220https://files.catbox.moe/yeowm2.jpg I have a whole 56 picture album mostly contained with several hilarious moments from Ooh La La. I love how realistic and organic their relationship feels. Theyre awkward at times but in such a healthy spriited and funny way that its adorable to watch go down. One of my favorite parts of stories is banter because characters and their dynamics are my main draws to a story hence why I love shows like Gintama Chihayafuru and so on. Theres some romance a lot of them and other genres where the characters feelI dunnosort of stiff. But Ooh La La presents us with two lovable leads who have their walls down constantly around each other roast one another in a playful way that friends do lets be real you arent truly friends or romantically involved if youre not roasting your partner to oblivion on a daily. 220https://files.catbox.moe/hiv573.jpg Ill elaborate on it more in my talk about the romance side of things I guess Im already including some of the romance section in this section but who cares but I stress how important this walls down constantly thing is because it actually makes us feel that theres actual chemistry going on. Theres too many times in romance media that characters always seem to be hiding info from one another that concerns the relationship or are overthinking the simplest thing to oblivion not saying that this is bad per se but in excess it gets frustrating. Panda and Tarot? Together they have one brain cell and they take pride in that fact. They hug they swing one another around they chase each other down in public they bite one anothers fingersthey feel so connected and it just makes you want to keep rooting for them more and more. 220https://files.catbox.moe/b8uhvq.jpg This is true chemistry and the way they display it each chapter is always entertaining and hilarious. The author has impeccable comedic timing nails dialogue that I would probably hear in real life and uses this simple and cute artstyle to convey great physical comedy: 220https://files.catbox.moe/tcrjxp.jpg Above is also a moment I was chuckling at for minutes on end. Ive been rambling about the comedic side a lot and touched a bit on the romance side so let me elaborate more on a much bigger point on why the romance is perfect. The romance is rich. You want to know why? Its because Panda and Tarot do ooone little thing that most romance media seem to forget: they communicate. WOAH thats taboo A romantic couple... COMMUNICATING? Great heavens. I cant even believe I have to make this a point. This is going to be a bit spoilery but I think its a spoiler worth clicking on for those who hate love triangles or miscommunication in media in general because Ooh La La deals with it in a SNAPPY fashion and gets it out of the way as quickly as it was brought up: The romance is so pure and its almost like a testament to youth as you get to see their relationship slowly progress through years of their life e.g. from high school to uni to even temporary military sendoff for Tarot. And with each stage of their life the romance keeps blossoming and their relationships becomes richer and richer. As people would say this series has altered my brain chemistry. And its only 70 chapters. When I finished it I was literally sad. Depressed even. I binged it too quickly because of how attached I was to these two goofballs. 220https://files.catbox.moe/3elvf3.jpeg I do not know how Im going to recover. I dont know what could possibly fill this gap because I dub this as my favorite piece of romcom media. From beginning middle and endthis story is a masterpiece in romcom writing in my opinion. I will take this to my grave. Its such a simple relaxed story thats free of drama for the most part makes you feel homey and heck Id even say it has brightened my worldview because it just shows how powerful human connection is through the mundane everyday life. 220https://files.catbox.moe/sa8gvb.jpeg They impact each other in such positive ways and they go from being slightly unsure how the hell such a quickly puttogether relationship will work to literally being an important part of each others life. This is sweet enough to give you diabetes and I gladly ingested it. I know the story ended perfectly but I want more so so SO bad. I think the author has another story in the works but please do support the author especially on their Instagram. They are truly talented at what they do and they put together such a nice easy and hilarious read that makes you feel good about life. Everyone needs a dose of positivity in their day so I highly recommend giving Ooh La La a try. Destress like these two do. 220https://files.catbox.moe/i2ir5c.jpeg Its a fun ride and I know I give perfect scores out like hotcakes but this is undoubtedly a 10/10 read for me and its high up in my media list. The reread value is high. I sometimes just scroll through the moments I screenshotted and just smile at the dynamics of these two. So check it out if its your cup of tea. You will not regret it. Im glad to be the first to write a review on this because this is a CRIMINALLY underrated gem that needs to be discovered and Im glad I can gush about it to no end I still have a lot to say but the review will get so long.
