The main theme of Amanchu is a mix of slice of life and scuba diving. It started off with Teko trying to discover the fun in scuba diving and adapt into new surrounding with new people. And the announce of Season 2 definitely a good addition of the sol series. However when the time arrives a lot of fans who first encounter this authors work is questioning the inconsistency of the shows theme and I am one of them. By the end of S2 Teko has gotten her Advance License I presumed and which is why the anime is titled Amanchu Advance. However to fill in the time gap either Teko receives more training or explore marine life with the rest of the club. With that episode we are introduced with a new character call Kokorochan. Kokorochan has things going on with Pikari which I will not spoil and in my opinions some developments shouldnt exist as it does not fit Amanchu. This is not the only problem I am facing the switch between themes is one of the major flaw in Amanchu Advance first few episodes are within the topic of scuba diving but the next thing we witness magic in a dream or dream from magic and it prolongs for more than necessary. While it is different from the usual slice of life series where cute or not girls doing cute things in different places the sudden change in plot doesnt sound too great for me who is looking forward to see more chibi faces from Teko Pikari and other club members even our mascot characters are getting lesser screentime. However they make it up with good sound animation and emotion regardless diving or not. Thus if I watch it in a episodic way Amanchu Advance isnt that bad as I first thought. So there are people who likes Amanchu Advance and there are also people who thinks that season 2 is good enough to wrap up the series. I am more of the previous but I agrees that if they are going to hail from diving content to more fantasy episode prompt us beforehand so that we can decide to watch or to stop. Lastly I prefer S1 opening than S2. .. I cant save this review because there arent enough words thus I shall continue with a semiranting by questioning a conclusion which does not give us a complete answer of a certain dream.
