As a person who has written a whole bunch of horribly negative reviews I consider labeling a series as generic and boring and etc a far harsher criticism than even the worst things Ive said about other bad horror manga. A boring and generic nightmare. Even though it shouldnt be once you progress in far enough to even realize what this manga actually even is about. But yet its just such a fucking slog to get to that point... if you want to weather the storm yourself do be warned this review does spoil what this series is eventually about. Or maybe it doesnt. Now dont get me wrong. This is very much not me saying that every horror manga needs to be a gore filled mess. But theres obviously a difference between having a plot and building up the horror slowly... and... just wasting time? But then weird stuff starts to happen like somebody leaving the thermostat cranked way up. No couldnt have been real. Was probably just a dream. After all the knife only grazed me. You were saying? Something about it being hot? Wait... I dont even care anymore. Fine. This is a horror manga so OF COURSE there has to be at the VERY MINIMUM one attempted rape. Except theres actually two. ... Eventually the monsters of this series do finally show up to rescue the reader and... well. Theyre not that good. Like why have a class of students be taught here? Also was that a human experimentation laboratory that I saw Im painting it like absolutely nothing of note happens but... I mean a full elevators worth do get killed because... the elevator explodes? I dont know something happens and then theres just a whole bunch of blood. And then literally on the first day despite just being told not to go on any of the nondesignated floors the friend of the main girl takes her along to try and go to the fiftieth floor despite being told theyre not supposed to go up there. 440https://i.ur.com/KXjIv4v.png Instead they end up on the forty second floor and they discover a HUMAN EXPERIMENTATION LAB and the girl who said they should go to a floor they werent supposed to is immediately captured by scientist man and main girl is incapacitated by mystery man. Main girl ends up waking back up in her lounge and oh I guess your friend just went back on her own probably. 440https://i.ur.com/jX3juTf.png Maybe I just dreamed all of that like getting stabbed to death. I wonder where my friend is... When we come back to main girls friend scientist man has her strapped to a table and about to shove her into what appears to be an incinerator of some sort. 440https://i.ur.com/UrTccKa.png They make sure to show the temperature of the incinerator is 1200 degrees Celsius. And then it immediately cuts to a page to the outside of the building wheres a sign showing the outside temperature and its only 37 degrees Celsius. And while Im American and thus follow the heretical ways of Fahrenheit Im still capable of understanding that wow 1200 degrees Celsius is probably a lot hotter than 37 degrees Celsius. And also that 37 degrees Celsius is still really hot. Of all the things that is established in this manga up to this point I didnt catch that Summers are typically hot. See I would have assumed he had injected her with the stupid zombie monster virus or whatever is before he threw her into an incinerator. After all theres that line about seeing how well she did with heat. Obviously he was just testing to see how well the virus took hold right? And the parasite does multiply at an explosive rate if exposed to extreme heat so... why didnt he just stab her inject her with the zombie parasite and then chuck her into an incinerator? The logic that seems to have been used is Ill just stick her in this cooker thatll reduce a human body to ashes for a minute or two and pull her out and shell be so badly burned that Ill be able to get permission to use my zombie virus. BECAUSE THATS IMPORTANT TO KNOW SINCE THE WORM ZOMBIES ONLY GO BERSERK WHEN THEYRE EXPOSED TO HIGH TEMPERATURE BUT MAYBE THE READER WONT GET IT THE FIRST TIME SO LETS JUST KEEP REPEATING IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OV Conclusion Of all the different flavors there are to horror series I think one of the ones I hate the most are oh no were trapped in this location because more often than not the characters tend to be insufferable so that means you the viewer are also stuck. Stuck with a mixture of either unlikable or generic characters that youll probably wish a worm zombie death upon over and over again. 440https://i.ur.com/plCQVcv.png Like I think it says a lot about this series when I think Id probably give it a moderate increase in score if... like you had it just start halfway in. Not to mention when it happens it just comes out of fucking nowhere. Even after the turn when it just devolves into stupid horror science experiment bullshit schlock I still got basically nothing out of this manga. Theres both worse and better horror series out there. But theres a lot of awful horror series that I can still remember troublingly well.
